jaina: (league of shadows dance training)
I am in love with this video, you guys-- a flash mob dancing to "Do Re Mi" in a train station in Antwerp. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger as more people join in, and the end (from about 3:23 on) is particularly awesome. I *loves* me a good production number. The awesomeness is diminished somewhat because it's a corporate-sponsored promotion, not a genuine flash mob/improv everywhere thing, but the sheer scale of it remains pretty impressive.

Making me laugh today: [livejournal.com profile] lolobama. Because macros still haven't stopped being funny. Here's one for the Doctor Who fans, plus a ton more links:

Old and busted; new hotness
More MIB fun
For all us West Wing fans
Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta
He's got this.
Extra points for the Very Secret Diaries reference
This one's a Simpsons reference, yeah?
Thank you, Daily Show!
Om nom nom!
Cause we know he's a geek
"I'm a bard!" (Bonus link to Political D&D if you haven't seen it)
Dramatic baby
Joe Biden was made for macro-ing

And of course, don't forget Yes We Can (Hold Babies)

Also, you guys, I have lost days of my life to TVTropes. (Warning: site is addictive. Use caution when clicking.) Every single time I go, I end up stuck there for hours. Look, there's a whole page about the ridiculous number of characters named Jack, which I kept meaning to do and now I don't have to! And I think the Portmanteau Couple Names page is making me ship people solely because their PCM is hilarious. (Foreteen! *dies*) They include XFiles in there though, and I have *never* seen anything but MSR used for Mulder and Scully. Is this a new thing? Damn these kids today...

Election-related stuff making me giggle today...

Someone at this paper is aware of all internet traditions:

Epic Win
Epic Win by Celine C on Zooomr

My friend [livejournal.com profile] wendyhouse's son loves Rock Obama:

And this one's for anyone who's 1) addicted to WoW, or 2) has a spouse/roommate who's addicted to WoW: clicky

I was SO EXCITED about Studio 60 finally coming back tonight (because last week did not count for me, what with the lack of Danny and/or Jordan, and also because it totally ruined my awesome idea of Allison Janney playing Cal's wife who bosses him around mercilessly. Come on, wouldn't that have been great?) and now here are some vague-ish S60 spoilers for tonight only )

And so, please enjoy this pictorial log of Strikethrough 2007, complete with lolrus, cats, pirates, and David Tennant.

Thing the First: Stupid Chargers! Stupid Seahawks! GRRRRR!

Thing the Second: Wookieepedia is the best time-waster in the history of ever. I can't believe I've never visited before. I was finally able to get the general gist of the bug books (beyond 'uh, there were bugs, and weird shit happened') and now I don't have to read them, yay!

Thing the Third: I desperately need people to flail about Republic Commando with! GAH! Eating my brain, yes indeed. Also, if you've read the Ender's Shadow series and the RepCom books, (sorta spoilers for both) )

Further Things: I am hungry. And also kind of cold.

There's a website devoted solely to figuring out celebrities' heights. They have articles on how to determine a celeb's true height, along with information on lifts and elevator shoes. I love the internet.

Also, for your amusement, hay.com, satisfying your hay-related needs.

Yay for Atlantis S2 minimarathon tonight! Not like I haven't seen these eps several times each already, but still.

It's somehow comforting to know that whatever random question pops into my head, Mr. Internet can answer it for me. For instance, I was curious about the Battlestar Galactica rank structure. (It was an offshoot of a train of thought involving SG-1, Star Trek, and real-life Army and Navy ranks.) I mean, you think "Commander Adama," and all the fighter-pilot Lieutenants, so, okay, Navy. But then you have Colonel Tigh and Captain Adama-- a much lower rank than Commander-- which is more Air Force/Army/Marines, and it was hurting my brain. So like a good little Internet addict, I flip open my laptop, type "rank in Battlestar Galactica" into Google, and the first thing that pops up is an entry on that very subject in Ron Moore's official blog. And my question is answered in under fifteen seconds.

The Internet: not just for porn anymore!

While we were in the dressing room just prior to competing, Mallory was walking around, giving us all skate tape. As I finished winding the tape around my boot, ensuring that my laces wouldn't come untied during our performance, a thought came unbidden to my mind:

"My skates are pastede on yay!"

I blame it on lack of sleep.
