Just spent 3+ hours in my skates. My too-small skates. And tomorrow I get to spend another three hours in them, and then Sunday I get to spend ANOTHER three hours in them! This is choreography weekend for Team Del Sol, when Benoit the choreographer visits from France and teaches us our program. This is all new to me as on all my previous teams the coach choreographed the program and sort of made it up as the year went along, and apparently that's what the Adult team did last year, too. (Last year, only the Seniors got a Benoit program.) But we got bronze at Nationals last year (the first year we had an Adult team) and this year we're gunning for gold, so a Benoit program it is. Benoit is amusing. He is very French and very gay. And his choreography doesn't really go to counts, which is annoying but I'll have to learn to deal. At least it mostly goes to the music.
And it could be worse-- the Senior/Adult cross-skaters get 27 hours of choreography this weekend. Yeouch.
