A little bit of a Dragon*Con report
Well okay, not so much of a report yet-- I'm borrowing
princess_lesa's idea and making a little pictorial record of all of my costumes from D*C 2007. I brought five and wore all five! Woo!
This is probably my absolute favorite picture of the whole weekend (courtesy of
kay_dee70's husband David and his mad photography skillz):

Friday evening: Elizabeth's plum dress from POTC, gussied up for Marie Antoinette night

Saturday afternoon: My new official Sith Cheerleader for photoshoot

Saturday evening: Dreamgirls/Disco Leia

Sunday morning: Padme's rainbow dress for Rebel Legion photoshoot

Sunday evening: Kaylee's fluffy Shindig dress, from Firefly

That Kaylee one cracked me the hell up when I saw it! I'm really not sure what's going on there-- maybe it was right after the Stargate Atlantis guy walked by me and commented on my dress and I was freaking out?

yeah... not so much feeling the Mad Costuming Skills at the moment, even though I have costumed Three. Shows. This. Week.
I am INSANE.
and I MISS YOU.
(wow, lots of caps here, but that's just how I'm feeling!)

More powerful than an industrial serger!
Able to costume THREE SHOWS in a SINGLE WEEK!
TOTALLY NUTS!
(love ya!)
I miss you like crazy too...we are really looking seriously at coming to see y'alls in January. It depends on United ceasing to be bitches about giving me my frequent flyer miles from my Europe trip, though. (Not to worry; I shall beat them into submission soon enough.)

And that Sith Cheerleader action shot is too cute. I so *heart* having fantastic costuming friends.

Those pictures are fabulous, Caitlin! I'm sorry I missed nearly all of your costuming.

Yeah, pretty much all my costuming at D*C was late at night, rather than during the day. It was hard enough to get around in the daytime without people stopping to ask for pictures!

Thank you. :)

I really need to go to D*C someday...

D*C is definitely a lot of fun! It's a very different kind of con from the ones I've been to before, but still great.

Great pics...I have some good ones of you too. I've had computer software issues at home...I need to fight though them and finish filling the photobucket tonight.
Great action shot!

Cool, I look forward to seeing your shots! Still trying to get all of ours online as well...we took them at very high-res since it was our first time using the camera (oops).

Your costumes are gorgeous as always. I wish I had the skill to make something like that, but I never learned to sew at all except for cross-stitching! :-)

And thank you! Hey, five years ago, about the most I'd ever done was cross-stitching and a few straight seams on my mom's sewing machine. I honestly think that anyone can learn to sew-- you just have to be willing to screw up a lot, is all. :)

The Lake Dress is absolutely stunning. It's one of the best recreations I've seen. :D

If it's not too personal, how do you keep the rainbow dress up? Is it just quality construction, or was there judicious use of double-stick tape? *curious*
