I am not going to talk about Harry Potter in this post
...except of course to say that the last chapter and epilogue of AtE are up, and they were amazing. It's been over two years I've been reading this story, and it's finally over. Quite a ride.
Okay, onto something completely different:
I would really like to have four costumes completed by the time we leave for Comic-con and Gencon in July, so that I can have a different costume for each day of the con. It's going to be a bit difficult as I've only got two done-ish right now...
1.
Costume: Arwen's chase dress
Done: It is wearable as is. Have just ordered ear tips online.
To Do: I want to replace the front snap closure with a separating zipper, line the bodice so I don't have to wear a tank top underneath, and replace the underskirt with a more suitable fabric and a better shape.
2.
Costume: Padme's rainbow dress
Done: The entire underdress is wearable as is. The overlay is nearing completion. I bought shoes to wear with it.
To do: Need to finish up the overlay-- stitch down the gathers at the neck, add hooks and eyes to the right sleeve, and add more binding at CF. Once that's done, attach overlay to underdress. Then have to do jewelry (neckpiece, two armbands, and fasteners at bottom CF and top of the train in CB). Also need to buy roll-on adhesive and rhinestone-covered bobby pins.
3.
Costume: Padme's blue tatooine midriff dress
Done: Ordered fabric today, and I think I have the dyes I need. Also have patterns for the wrap top and cape.
To do:: Dye fabric, then sew whole outfit.
4.
Costume: Sikozu
Done: Found pants in MTG office that should provide enough fabric for pants and bra. Bought boots today.
To do:: Actually turn pants into pants and bra. Find correct-colored vinyl (sort of burnt orange-brick red) to make skirt and gauntlets, and cover boots. Buy long curly red wig. Learn how to do her skin makeup from Kimmerie.
Yeah, I think I have my work cut out for me. Wheee.
