a glorious week of television

Oh, hello, Heroes and Studio 60! I HAVE MISSED YOU SO. (And you too, BSG, welcome back.) Non-spoileryness:

BSG: I cannot believe that the *entire* promo for next week was Anders/Kara/Lee/Dee. Do not *make* me start calling you by soap opera names.

Heroes: Peter's only 26! There is hope!

Studio 60: Want next week NOW NOW NOW. Also, hugs for Steven Weber! Also, watching a first-season episode of West Wing and *then* watching S60? Oh Bradley Whitford, when did you get so old? And...blonde? (But still marvelous, of course.)

I cannot explain my unabiding passion and deep lust for Bradley Whitford. Weird right?!

Love,
Kelly

I, too, am muchly contented by the appearance of new episodes.

I'm kinda glad that next week's BSG appears to be a "deal with the whole romantic issues" episode. Honestly. It's been a long time coming. Let's get it out of the way and get on with the story!

Although I am loving the feisty Dee!

So yesterday evening I caught a random episode of Studio 60 on Bravo... and ZOMG it was so good! I had no idea what I was missing or what you'd been rabbling about, but it made me want to start at the beginning and watch.

YAY! Okay I will warn you now, it is a very, er, shall we say *uneven* show. It has moments of sheer brilliance and moments where you're embarrassed for everyone onscreen. But I think the brilliant stuff outweighs the not-so-brilliant stuff. :)

(What episode did you see?)

Totally not weird, for he is awesome! And according to the old WW episode I just watched, he's got nice arms!

It is weird to me to have all these characters on the show be married and everyone's like, "my husband," "your wife," etc. It feels kind of like I'm watching a fanfic, you know?

But yes, let's please get the romantic crap out of the way and go back to beating up on the Cylons, or getting beat up by the Cylons, whichever. (I really do love Lee and Kara, but my attitude toward them has become "okay, you two get your shit together, and when you've figured something out, *then* you come and you talk to me." Cause man, it's very wearying.)

In conclusion: Adama/Roslin 4eva!

Y'know, I really wanted to like Studio 60. Early TWW is one of my favorite TV shows, and I was kinda hoping this would come along and continue in the same wonderful vein, but it just hasn't clicked. Granted I've only watched three episodes, but in that time I really couldn't bring myself to care about most of the principal characters at all.

's too bad for me, but I'm glad to see someone enjoying it. :-)

I actually was really not much interested in Studio 60 until I saw "The Christmas Show," which was the episode directly before this one. And then I was *hooked.* Then I went back and watched the first ten episodes. Or rather, watched the interesting bits and skimmed over the cringeworth stuff.

Out of curiosity, which episodes did you see, do you remember?

[identity profile] tristmasjedi.livejournal.com 2007-01-24 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
The first episode, the second episode, and (most of) the most recent episode.

The first one I actually thought was pretty okay. The other two were the ones that left me feeling "meh."

"The Option Period," "B-12," and "The Christmas Show" (episodes 9, 10, 11) is a pretty good run, if you're interested in trying it again. Or just watch The Christmas Show, because it's probably the best ep they've done to date.

But yeah, the show has a lot of issues. I like it anyway, though. :)

If I see any of 'em on, I'll check it out. :-)

I caught the Christmas episode, which I realize was spoilerific and had big stuff go down in it that is not typical for episodes, but considering that in one episode they made me passionately care about characters that I didn't even know about 5 minutes into the show, that's pretty damn good.

Unfortunately this show will not get picked up any time soon because trying to catch TV shows when they actually air is impossible with my work schedule. I do have a VCR, but I'm also lazy. At some point I'll just DL or netflix it and enjoy the goodness that way.
