Oh, Secret Agent Michael Va-aughn!

I finished my blue Tatooine midriff dress! WOOHOO! It just needs ironing. Since Rogue's out gaming I had to take the pics in a mirror, so they're kind of crappy, but there will better pics after GenConSoCal tomorrow. :)

I'm a beeyoooouteefull butterfly (aka click here for pics)

cool!

what's the fabric you used?

It's cotton jersey, from Dharma. I think the original is silk jersey, but silk's expensive.

I'll be sure to check in tomorrow though :)

beautiful it is.

The problem is deciding which is more gorgeous - the dress or the wearer? ;)

Okay, now I'm green with envy! You're disgustingly talented, you know that, right? I was browsing the pics--I can't wait to see some of these at cons next year, especially Elizabeth's plum gown.

Speaking of "Pirates"--do you know where I could get some pictures of the dress she wears at the end of the movie? (For the aborted hanging sequence.) Ignoring that my mother is probably going to throw up her hands and make me learn to sew, I've been meaning to make a gown like that. Any costume sites have any recomendations for that costume?

Aw, thank you Jen. :) I hope I can get everything done that I have planned. I'd like to have all new stuff to wear for Comic-con/GenCon.

Pirates costumers are very lucky-- they auctioned off almost all of the main costumes, so there are great reference photos. There's a page on the peach gown here (http://www.geocities.com/blueswordclothing/potc/peach.html). Hope that helps. :)
