Tiny Wonder Woman is DONE!

I finished a costume! Not for me, although I wish I were tiny enough to fit it because it's pretty stinkin' adorable.

I made a Tiny Wonder Woman for [livejournal.com profile] eliz's little girl. She wanted to be Wonder Woman, but not, you know, with a bustier and a swimsuit bottom. So, inspired by [livejournal.com profile] luminousbeing78's Tiny USO Girl, I designed a little ruffly dress. I'm really happy with how it came out!

All together (the bracers go on her forearms; I just safety pinned them to the sleeves for the picture):

Dress only, in natural light (the above picture with flash is more true to the actual color of the dress):

My mother-in-law sent me these darling labels for my birthday-- this is the first time I've gotten to use one!

The dress is Butterick 4967, with sleeves from Butterick 4054. I drafted on the Peter Pan collar. The fabric is all USO Girl leftovers. :D The skirt stars and WW logo were painted on with Jacquard and Tulip fabric paints, respectively. Tiara and belt are fun foam painted gold, and the bracers are made from my hoard of amazing silver vinyl that I bought nearly a decade ago and have been using in little pieces ever since.

Ohhhh, I really hope it fits her okay. (I made it a little big, since it can be cinched with the belt, and it would be nice if it fitted for longer than a week.)

That is too freakin' cute! Well done!

I love it!! That is the sweetest thing. Adapting superhero costumes for toddlers....Piper got a child's hammer from Thor, which she uses without mercy. That may be next on the Piper agenda.
That little girl will be one stylin' trick or treater!

That is adorable. I kind of want to be a little girl right now, so I can pester you for costumes!

[identity profile] amaz0n-princess.livejournal.com 2011-10-26 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Um... I kinda want a full sized ADULT VERSION FOR ME!

CUTEST THING EVER!

Nicely done!

All together now: Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww. (I'll have to tell Lucky his 'best friend' is really Wonder Woman! He'll never believe me.)

This is why you are universally loved by children. Because you make all of this awesome happen!

R will be ecstatic.

Thanks! And thank YOU for making that Tiny USO for Piper-- it definitely inspired me when I was working out what I wanted to do for this costume. Tiny Thor would be SO cute!!!

Why thank you! It's the first I ever made so I'm quite pleased with it. (What is it with little girls' dresses and Peter Pan collars? They just look so perfect.)

[identity profile] brightcupenny.livejournal.com 2011-10-28 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, thank you!

[identity profile] phavorianne.livejournal.com 2011-10-29 08:34 am (UTC)(link)
It's so cute! And OMG did you paint all those stars on?

[identity profile] amaz0n-princess.livejournal.com 2011-10-29 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't tempt me...

[identity profile] brightcupenny.livejournal.com 2011-11-09 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! And yes, I did. I used a stencil that I made out of a thin sheet of plastic. It was a little time-consuming, but of course the blue fabric with white stars is never available when you actually need it! :)
