I finished a costume! Not for me, although I wish I were tiny enough to fit it because it's pretty stinkin' adorable.

I made a Tiny Wonder Woman for [livejournal.com profile] eliz's little girl. She wanted to be Wonder Woman, but not, you know, with a bustier and a swimsuit bottom. So, inspired by [livejournal.com profile] luminousbeing78's Tiny USO Girl, I designed a little ruffly dress. I'm really happy with how it came out!

All together (the bracers go on her forearms; I just safety pinned them to the sleeves for the picture):

Dress only, in natural light (the above picture with flash is more true to the actual color of the dress):

My mother-in-law sent me these darling labels for my birthday-- this is the first time I've gotten to use one!

The dress is Butterick 4967, with sleeves from Butterick 4054. I drafted on the Peter Pan collar. The fabric is all USO Girl leftovers. :D The skirt stars and WW logo were painted on with Jacquard and Tulip fabric paints, respectively. Tiara and belt are fun foam painted gold, and the bracers are made from my hoard of amazing silver vinyl that I bought nearly a decade ago and have been using in little pieces ever since.

Ohhhh, I really hope it fits her okay. (I made it a little big, since it can be cinched with the belt, and it would be nice if it fitted for longer than a week.)

It's so cute! And OMG did you paint all those stars on?

Thank you! And yes, I did. I used a stencil that I made out of a thin sheet of plastic. It was a little time-consuming, but of course the blue fabric with white stars is never available when you actually need it! :)
