Yay, I got to watch my TiVoed recordings of the ladies and ice dance Nationals. (I'd been keeping up with the results as they were posted but didn't get a chance to watch till later.)

( It was kind of anticlimactic, actually (spoilerz within) )

Tanith and Ben still rule the world, but Melissa and Denis just plain rocked. I'll be rooting for them at Worlds for sure. And dear God, julietvalcouer, I totally see what you mean about Morgan Matthews. She looks-- well, gross. Very sad.

Pairs? Um. I really did not see this great American pairs renaissance that the commentators kept going on about. I mostly saw couple after couple heave each other about and gasp around the ice. The kids with the big triple twist though, they were good, but they've got a ways to go to be really competitive internationally. And what the hell was up with John Baldwin's I-got-mugged-in-Russia story? Seriously weird.

The little junior girls were adorable, but I kept thinking, "Oh, just wait till you hit puberty, kids. We'll see who's laughing then."

Tomorrow night! Evan Lysacek and His Manly Stubble try to dethrone Johnny Weir and His Inexplicable Hair! Oh, and there might be some girls skating too or something. (Go Alissa! Don't choke!)

I decided it was high time for a picspam of my very favorite ice dancers, Tanith and Ben. I basically just used stuff from the last three years because frankly, they've only gotten really hot in the last few years. They've always been amazing and adorable, but the hotness is recent. Maybe I'll do a bitty!Tanith and bitty!Ben picspam sometime later.

Uh, okay, so we're now thirteen episodes into the current season (for your reference, the most recently aired ep was #15) and ninagnome, I understand what you meant now. Um, do I have to keep watching? Can I stop? Better yet, can I rewind to, oh, somewhere in the middle of fifth season and then just stay there in happy la-la-land? Wah.

(I do, however, think Rory's hair looks better, and does anyone else think Logan kinda looks like Alan Tudyk, or is it just me?)

In non-frivolous news, my scrapbooking session with blusurfer got interrupted by my temp agency calling me with a job, so at least I have work for this week. Yay, money.

Holy crap, that little Tanith/Ben puff piece they showed was pure skating porn. Good Lord. *fans self*

I love how excited the skeleton announcers get. I can just picture them jumping up and down and shrieking at each other.

Many have said this before me, but SNOWBOARDCROSS IS AWESOME. They should have the events all over again. It'd be ratings gold.

TANITH CAN GET HER CITIZENSHIP. She and Ben get to go to the Olympics.

I'm not crying. I'm not. My eyes are just leaking, is all. After all, it's stupid to cry over ice skaters you don't even know, especially when they haven't even competed yet.

But I'm so happy. This makes my whole week.
