I made things!

I took a millinery class at the community college this semester, and I finally took some pictures of my finished product! It's a blocked buckram crown and drafted brim, covered with gray wool and trimmed with black grosgrain:

I also made little ornaments for all the members of last year's Bring It On: Rock the Mouse Masquerade group. (This is somewhat of a tradition for our group-- we have some adorable ornaments from entries past from Corli.) They're shaped like the Mickey Mouse logo, with pom-poms as the ears. One side has our group logo, the other side has a picture of the castmember it belonged to. This is about half of them-- the rest had already been given to their recipients. (Hey, Victoria! Send me your address and I can send you yours!)

Whew, I think I finally have a handle on all the pictures that everyone took during D*C. (Picasa, I both love and hate you.) So here's a roundup of the 8 costumes that I wore during Dragon*Con 2009:

- MARY MCDONNELL. I got to ask a question and she said she liked my Roslin '08 shirt! (OMG.)
- Dragon*Con loves Disney characters: "Yo, Jafar is the shit!"
- Being a Sgt Pepper groupie was SO MUCH FUN EEEEE.
- Mad costume changes-- groupie, cheerleader, groupie, cheerleader
- Inducting Steve Sansweet as an honorary Rebel cheerleader

Moving on to cons that actually happened *this* year, here's the first three days of San Diego Comic-Con 2009 in excruciating detail.

I just wanted to post quickly to say thank you, all of you, for your wonderful comments on my last post. I'm glad you enjoyed the skit. I'll be replying to individual comments next week, but in a very few hours I'm taking off to be a bridesmaid in schneck128's wedding. Seeing as we'll be two hours' drive into the mountains outside Denver, I'm doubting there'll be much in the way of internet. ;-)

Still searching for that elusive eight hours of solid sleep...and also I'm getting sick. You couldn't hold on for another three days, immune system?

Well, I've been pretty thoroughly beaten to the punch on posting this-- I can't access LJ, Facebook, or YouTube at work-- so please forgive me if this is the billionth time this has shown up on your flist today. But I have the video for our Comic-Con skit!
