I made things!

I took a millinery class at the community college this semester, and I finally took some pictures of my finished product! It's a blocked buckram crown and drafted brim, covered with gray wool and trimmed with black grosgrain:

More pictures under the cut! )

I also made little ornaments for all the members of last year's Bring It On: Rock the Mouse Masquerade group. (This is somewhat of a tradition for our group-- we have some adorable ornaments from entries past from Corli.) They're shaped like the Mickey Mouse logo, with pom-poms as the ears. One side has our group logo, the other side has a picture of the castmember it belonged to. This is about half of them-- the rest had already been given to their recipients. (Hey, Victoria! Send me your address and I can send you yours!)

I made stuff for people for Christmas this year! In point of fact, I made:
  • A plush Weighted Companion Cube for my brother
  • A hat knitted with BITCHIN' FLAMES for my brother
  • A lace neckwarmer for my mama
  • A new Christmas stocking for Rogue
Many pictures and more details are under the cut to spare your flists )

So I really meant to do this about two weeks ago, but whatever, better late than never--

I opened an Etsy store!

I'm selling dice bags, since the boys all seem to covet [livejournal.com profile] sirrogue's (made by Steph originally, I should note), and when Janet asked me to make one for Jon as a Christmas present last year, I was like hey, I could try selling these! Of course it took me a year to get around to it! :-P

Anyhow, it's pretty much a random experiment, but I had a fun time finding the fabric and making the bags. I've only got three up there now, but I have two more made that I'll post tomorrow when there is once again sunlight. And apparently you can name your etsy stores? I have no idea what to call mine. It's totally bare-bones right now!

Okay, this one's a bit of a cheat-- it was about 99% done at the end of 2008. ;-) And I started it, um, almost five years ago. (Oops?)

Details and more pictures under the cut )

PHEW. Man am I glad to have that finished!
