happies and grumpies

jainaThanksgiving was Thanksgiving. We had the traditional dinner, but at a restaurant, not home-cooked. Still excellent. Also got the chicken cordon bleu twice at Jack-in-the-Box cause they aren't selling 'em down here. And they're gooooooood.
I got a really nice email from the professor with the nifty name telling me that the paper I wrote, using articles he recommended, was excellent. That was yayness.
Then I have two emails from the chair and co-chair of my minor proposition committee telling me all the things that are wrong with my proposal. I know I shouldn't take it personally at all; I should be really grateful because they're helping me write a stronger proposal that will be more likely to pass. But it's harder not to get down on myself about it because it's not just my writing or my grammar that they're criticizing, it's the ideas I came up with. :-/ Oh well. Criticism now is criticism avoided when I give my oral presentation, right?
