I'm very very hungry, but it's pouring again outside and my shoes have just finished drying. (I put them in the lab oven and they are warm and toasty and just a bit squishy to walk on.)

In preparation for watching Ben and Claudia on SG1's new season this summer, I've started reading fic. Eventually I might actually try some reruns, but I like to ease into a new fandom with fic first. Besides, I'm currently busy catching up on CSI reruns on Spike. (The DNA lab blew up last night. Your lab a splode!) If any of y'all want to rec me stuff, please go ahead. I'll read pretty much anything gen or het.

Also, I just watched the SG1 S9 trailer on scifi.com, and mmmmm, Ben Browder in uniform. And what looked like a shot of a very nice cape (though I couldn't tell who was wearing it).

My first thought was to scramble my brain for good fic to rec to my friend. My second thought was, "Oh crap - the only fic I've ever really read is Daniel/Janet, and that's likely not to be of ANY help whatsoever." (That ship isn't exactly "canon", although the supporters are very, very faithful. ::grin::)

Anyway, if you are interested, you're welcome to read some of mine. I don't know that it will help you get that much of a feel for the show, but it will let you get to know Daniel and Janet. And in the meantime, I'll query a couple of my friends, who I think have read other stuff (and whose opinion I trust) to see if they have any rec's.

Yes, very nice. And how tricky of them indeed to not show us who is actually wearing said cape. But in addition to the cape did you notice the amazing boots that are also being worn? Yowza!

in 5 months, thanks to netflix and scifi channel I managed to watch all 8 seasons of SG1 and of course this years Atlantis. It was well worth it.
