I did the celebrity facial recognition thingie, using five different pictures to see if it consistently told me I looked like the same celebrities. No one matched all five times; the most I got was three.

Three matches:
Kate Winslet (works for me)
Shirley Temple (WTF?)
Hilary Rodham Clinton (OMGWTFPOLARBEAR)

Two matches:
Emma Watson (hurray, I'm cleared to dress up as Hermione)
Isabella Rossellini (dammit, I wanted Lena Olin)

The highest percentage match I got was Shakira at 73%, but she didn't appear as a match in any of the four other pictures.

Interesting little thingie, the facial recognition whatsit. Not quite sure they've got all the kinks worked out.

Way cool link ya got there. I got Hillary Duff of all people, but you know, I can see a similarity in our cheesy grins.

But were you told you looked like Colin Powell? They should really ask if you want male or female before they scare you like that :)

I think hair plays a very big part in it. In the picture I ran with my hair up, I got mostly men. Men with big foreheads, for that matter. I am all forehead.

I also ran five pictures and got Christina Ricci, Hillary Clinton and Ritchie Valens twice. In common, I also had Shirley Temple and Emma Watson. And if families matter, I got Chelsea Clinton too :)

Definitely an amusing thing, but yeah, still some kinks in it!

Ran a sixth and got another Hillary, Shirley Temple and Colin Powell. This thing could be very addictive :)

Still about foreheads. At least in the pictures shown, everyone has a big one :)

OK, me again. Out of curiousity I uploaded a picture of Orlando Bloom (the picture I used to make the above icon, chose because it was nice and clear, unlike every other picture I seem to have a famous person in, it's about good pictures of the dress I'm copying!) and he didn't come up as a match for himself. Apparently he looks like Gillian Anderson, Elvis and Walter Mondale though...

It's really really really scary when I know what the original reference to this was, and it came from someone outside CJ!!

That's interesting that you got Kate Winslet - because in that one pic of you in the Tatooine midriff outfit you look a lot like her! But in others, I don't see as strong a resemblance! You should upload that one and see what the Face Recognition thing says!

I flailed at the cuteness of the hats and hat wearers.

So I had tried the celebrity thing yesterday, then I tried today, to try a few photos, like you. I started with the same photo as yesterday and... Elvis was my top match (63%). The previous day it had been Diana Rigg (63%). Today she was third with 62%, and I don't remember Elvis being there at all yesterday. And this was with me using the SAME PHOTO. I just tried it a third time, Diana Rigg, with no elvis... This is a great way to waste time... should study...

I tried that too -- because it said my husband looked like Kate Winslet, when in fact he looks like Anthony Michael Hall.
So I gave it a pic of Kate, and it came up with several matches, none of whom were her, and three of whom were black....?

anyway. It did give pics of my mother and me two people in common, so maybe there's something to it? and it *is* fun!

I think the angle at which the photo is taken matters--one full-on shot and one profile turned up nothing, but the studio portrait (used to be one my icons here) taken at a slight angle turned up:

Kate Winslet (74%), Isabella Rossellini (73%), Katie Holmes (72%), Jennifer Connelly (71% and I think probably the closest they got), Grace Kelly (71%--uh..yeah, not) Christina Ricci (71%--not bad) Elisha Cuthbert (71%--who is she and why do I know her name?), and Natalie Portman (!) (69%). All of whom in their reference photos are in the same right-three-quarter profile I'm in.

Oh, on men's, I got Lech Walesa (71%--president of Poland, which makes a certain sort of sense as we're at least the same ethnic group) and a young Bob Dylan (70% WTFBBQ?)

I got Halle Berry 3 times and Grace Kelly twice. And old Audrey Hepburn was my highest.

It didn't like pictures with me with glasses at all though.
