Hello darlings!

It's been far too long since I updated. Let's see if I can summarize.

So, right. Out of a job. Sylvie, dear that she is, guilted the CEO into paying me through half of August. Then I talked to J-F yesterday and told him what happened, and boom! He offered me a job. So I'm getting paid for pretty much the whole summer, while actually only working for about two months! Go me!

Been working like mad the last three days trying to get our poster ready for the big ACS conference in three weeks. Every time I think I've fixed it, something else needs doing! At least Ali and Ryo are helping.

Maine was fantastic. The Quinns are the best family ever. :-D The setting was gorgeous, right by a lake-- only annoying things were the trucks that came barreling by at all hours, the bugs, and the train that always seemed to blast by our house at 3 am. We got our revenge, though-- stayed up waiting for it (while watching A Walk to Remember-- I shamefully admit to getting sucked in), then pelted it with water ballons from our big slingshot. Heh heh heh. Other highlights of the trip included:
-- massive family participation in the Maine State Triathlon on Sunday ("Oh, the Quinns! Everyone's heard of you!") including having the oldest competitor, Grandma (age 80), who did the walking/running leg of the Lindsay-Barbara-Grandma team. The Caitlin-Ryan-Liz team, AKA One Love, performed quite respectably, finishing in the middle of the Quinn teams. I am proud to report that I did *not* finish last on the 1k swim-- that honor goes to T.J. :-D And I *almost* beat Uncle Bob.
-- fun times by the lake, including the sudden appearance of five-year-old Patrick from seemingly nowhere, shouting "Get Uncle Bob and a paddle!" "Patrick! How did you get here?" "I ran through the woods!" Apparently he and Uncle Brian were out in one of the canoes, and the wind was so strong that Brian couldn't paddle back, so he sent Patrick for help.
-- massive cousin yoga in the living room with the new video Liz bought
-- the hot tub (mmmmmmmmm hot tub)
-- manicure party!
-- endless trips to Rite-Aid
-- the FOOD! I swear, I gained ten pounds from all that delicious food.

Had first skating lesson with Heather two days ago. She says I have good form. :) Yay!

Packing for GenCon. We leave ohgodearly tomorrow morning. I'm going to game this year-- even made my own deck. Go me! GENCON BAYBEE!!!
