Danger, Will Robinson.
Jun. 3rd, 2003 01:53 amNori has returned, bearing bridal magazines, gifts to me from her younger sister, who is wedding-obsessed even in high school. I think one of them is at least half an inch thick. Perhaps three-quarters. Frightening.
I've been paging through them, seeing if I get any further dress inspiration, but nothing is really tickling my fancy more than the dress I've already designed. All the dresses in the books are so stiff and unyielding-- thick bridal satin, boned bodices, layers of scratchy crinolines. I don't think I want that. I want my dress to be very soft, very flowy, but still have some fullness to it. Full without being stiff. I wonder if I can do that? Must ask people who know more about dress construction than I.
Should go to bed. More costume shop cleanup awaits tomorrow morning.
