Nov. 12th, 2004 06:00 pmMIT people, do you ever look at your Brass Rat and feel homesick? ...I guess this wouldn't apply for those of you still in Boston. Or maybe it does, I don't know.
I went to our program's beer hour today and met another MIT alum. He's in the program too, about to graduate. He identified me by my Rat. Hee. (Also that reminds me, I ran into Catherine Howell outside the biomedical library last week. Apparently she's in the bioengineering program here.) Also, I had been craving cake all day, and there was cake at beer hour. It was good. There was champagne at beer hour too so I had champagne and Albertson's cake. It was kind of like a white trash wedding reception. Also there was *another* student there who'd just donated her hair to Locks of Love. Odd coincidences all around, today.
I came home to find an adorable thank-you card from my future Padawan Carly (I don't care if you've claimed them all, Dave, Carly's mine and I'll fight you for her). She informed me that the Hufflepuff tie I made her was "spooktacular" and that I was a great "sewer." It's a testament to my childhood that it took me a moment to realize that meant "one who sews," not "place where the Ninja Turtles live."
