warning, entry about skating ahead
Jan. 6th, 2005 03:15 pmOh my god, you guys, I found it-- a picture of the sign that reduced me to tears at last year's synchro Nationals. I'm not quite sure why it affects me so much. I guess it's to do with showing that people older than, y'know, twenty can still skate and compete and be great. Or something.
Anyway. The schedule for the Pacific Coast competition is up, and wow, I just hadn't realized it would be so...small. I'm used to Easterns, where there are so many teams that in many divisions they have to skate a qualifying round before the final. In fact, looking at the practice schedule for Easterns this year, there are over a hundred teams competing in all the various divisions. At Coast? Thirty-three.
On the plus side, it should make for a more intimate and friendly competition, and pretty much everyone who competes gets to go to Nationals if they want to. :)
