jaina: (league of shadows dance training)
GenCon airfare has been booked. Yay, Southwest Rapid Rewards, for letting you take any flight you want as long as there's a seat available, unlike other stupid frequent flyer programs. Arriving Wednesday around 2:30 and leaving Sunday around 3:45. We thought about leaving later on Wednesday and trying to get a half-day of work in for Rogue, but figured if we were paying for the extra hotel room night we might as well get there earlier so we can actually hang out with people. Yay, hanging out with people. For the first time ever, I've not bought a badge. No point really, when I won't be doing the costume contest (it overlaps with our ice skating time). I can just borrow someone else's to check out the vendor floor and get any autographs if I want them.

I did actually game at GenCon once. I played in the all-girl "Arwen tournament" for the LOTR CCG and got fifth out of...twelve? Sixteen? [livejournal.com profile] spccadet, help me out here. Top four got prizes, but I wheedled my way into one too, helped along by my Arwen costume. ;-) But I haven't gamed since and don't plan to. It's just not my thing. Requires *way* too much focus and concentration, and I'm the poster child for Short Attention Span Theater. Also, my split concentration exercises (stop giggling) need serious work.

Our house is so stuffed with Comic-Con swag it's not even funny. How we acquired all this crap I'm still not quite sure, but it's completely taken over our kitchen table. (Today I'm wearing my pink sparkly Vader t-shirt from the Star Wars shop. Yay.)

Oh, also, new icon, found over on journalfen. Funny.
