Oscar noms are out.

Episode III got one nomination. For makeup. No visual effects. No costume design. Oh, I can hear the screams of fanperson outrage from here. Can you?

I am actually quite a bit outraged. I'm not entirely sure some of those nominees were all that accomplished, compared to ROTS. But such is life. The Academy and George have not always been on the best of terms.

Interesting cast of characters, this year. It is nice to see a little bit of fresh to the nominees and films.

The pearl-beaded nightgown lost the costume nomination, I guess, which is a pity, but no visual effects is almost a real outrage. I'm sorry, but War of the Worlds really didn't compare.

Oh, well. What I'm really angry about is no Mario Bello in Best Supporting Actress. (A History of Violence.)

I am VERY surprised that it didn't get nominated for costume design. Very surprised indeed. Especially considering the main makeup effect I remember from the movie (yes, I know there was tons of cool stuff) was the fact they made the Emperor look like he had a buttcrack in his forehead, which doesn't inspire me to nominate it for an Oscar in this regard. But costumes? That's a damn shame.

yeah, it was disappointing, but i'm so glad brokeback mountain got so many noms...I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!! sorry. but yeah, star wars III should have atleast gotten visual or costumes, they really good...
