Hey look, it's not an entry about Comic-Con!
*SOB SOB SOB CRY CRY CRY* Mark and Chelsie are gone! My darlings! Oh, I knew it was probably going to happen, but that doesn't make me any less sad. I wanted them to dance together again, but I suppose I can be content with this week's group dance. And hopefully, if they do favorite dances again for the finale, we'll see "Bleeding Love" again. And ohhhhhhhh my gosh, at the end of tonight when she just LEAPT into his arms and they spun around and around and *SOB*. It was like two weeks ago, when they were both declared safe and they cut to a shot of the "saved" dancers and the two of them were holding onto each other for dear life. Let me tell you internets, I seriously rewound that like eight times. And now I am watching fanvids of them. I may need help.
I'll say again how very fortunate Twitch was to *not* have made it last season. I'm willing to lay money that he wouldn't have made it this far, had it been him instead of Hok last year. Yes, he's got personality coming out of his ears, but he came into this year with a ton of people already knowing him and wanting him to do well, and that gave him a big, big advantage. I was thrilled to see him again, and happier still when he made it. I don't want him to win, though. Twitch has killer solos, but he's not as good in other genres as Josh.
Going back to last week, which I didn't even watch until Sunday night, omg I was so glad to see Will go. Anyone who's read one of my Sasha Cohen rants can probably guess my thoughts on Will. *g* No, he's not as bad that way, but as someone on SZ put it, it's like he's this beautifully sculpted brick wall. Incredible technique, incredible proficiency, but none of the emotion that I *need* in my favorite performers. Actually, in his solo work he was okay; it was the partner work where he just never seemed comfortable. It was always jarring whenever he came into contact with his partner. Plus, hearing the judges fawn over him every week got really tiresome.
ADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM!!!! Man, I love seeing Adam be a guest judge. Even though everyone was just gushing instead of actually judging (but really, most of the dances were quite good). ADAM I LOVE YOU.
In conclusion, I hope Katee's roommate Natalie tries out again next year. I'll vote for her a million times.

Date: 2008-08-02 03:21 am (UTC)I heart Mark, though, because he was the only one who could pull off things like the waltz this week. As pointed out by lovely Adam, Mark actually had rise and fall to his waltz (unlike Twitch and I can't remember if Josh had the waltz or not) and as long as he wasn't with a sucky partner doing hard choreography (Kherington *cough*) was made of awesome.
He's no Pasha, but he was my closest thing this year :( He was never going to win, but I would have liked to see him in the finals. Do you realize he never danced with Katee? Unfair!
And talk about judges fawning, I like Josh but the whole "You're untrained! You're amazing!" is not only getting old, it's false - remember Debbie Allen calling him out on that ballet move during Vegas? Plus, I thought his disco was pretty sucky, but YMMV.

Date: 2008-08-02 06:37 am (UTC)Based on dancing skills, Twitch should really be gone. But it's a popularity contest, and people love him, so. I mean, I still do love him! I just don't want him to win, and I'd rather have seen Mark in final 4.
Mark really can pull off just about anything, and I think it's because he just commits himself so wholly to it. It's not "hello I'm a contemporary dancer, but I'm going to try this hip-hop," it's "hello, I'm a hip-hop dancer."
Ohhhh, *Pasha.* Gosh I miss that boy. He got out same round too, right? Top six?
Yeah, I agree about Josh and the training thing. We know he's had at least some, and they never really specified what, which is kind of fishy to me. Yeah, I didn't feel his disco at all. Actually, I didn't really like any of the disco this season, not like I *loved* Neil and Sara's last year.

Date: 2008-08-02 07:38 am (UTC)As for the guys. I loved Mark's solos. OMG! I was just never that sure of his partnering. I never fell in love with any of the guys. Of the two left, I would hope that Josh gets a better vote than Twitch. Twitch is a great dancer, but Josh is just magic to me. (especially him and Katie... man she is so cute!)
Of the four, I think Josh is the strongest dancer, but the way this season has been going, I would not be surprised to see any of them win.

Date: 2008-08-02 12:34 pm (UTC)Chelsie and Courtney are kind of apples and oranges for me, except that whenever Chelsie talked in her behind the scenes vids I was sure she was on cocaine. But dancing-wise they each had something really great and I liked them both. I would have thought Courtney would have been cut, but that just goes to show me.
And I'll second Cait's comment about Katee's roommate. I hope she comes back next year.

Date: 2008-08-03 08:11 am (UTC)I think it's a toss-up between Katee, Twitch, and Josh at this point, unless Courtney completely blows everyone away in the finale. I'm not sure yet who I'll vote for-- probably Courtney or Josh.
