Pretty much exactly what it sounds like-- the cast of Avatar does West Side Story. Some songs straight from the musical, some parodies. Zuko dies in Aang's arms, LOL. Completely adorable, and kind of wrong. I imagine acparadise'll have the video soon.

You guys were brilliant! Absolutely loved the skit, definitely best in show for me, but then I had seen a couple of the other winners at costume-con so they weren't new and different. Mad props to you guys for pulling a new, original, fantastic and hilarious skit together so quickly. And your dress is gorgeous. =)

Really looking forward to seeing the video, because you guys were simply marvelous and the audience absolutely loved the skit! D'awww, that is awfully nice of Cordelia :-) We took Indy's pistol and Mutt's switch-comb back with us in our luggage with no problems.

Congrats! I didn't stay to watch the awards, but I definately think Judges Choice was well-deserved! That was a great idea to do a "big wig" theme and present it the way you did! I thought it was brilliant!

I'm not surprised that "We Lost" got so many awards... I think their costumes really stood out as amazing just on their own and their simple presentation just enhanced the characterization. Your group and those guys both had obviously planned the costumes and the presentation together and that worked out great.

Seriously, I think just about everyone else did the same old "record scratch" presentation where they started out serious/dramatic, scratched the record, then busted out with dance music and just flailed around a bit. It got pretty old near the end especially when 3 or 4 groups in a row did exactly the same thing! Obviously they made their costume first and the presentation was an afterthought. I mean, that gimmick was great the first time, but when like 50% of the presentations are exactly the same it's just not funny anymore.

Poor IronMan... that would have been so much cooler if he hadn't busted part of his costume breaking through the brick wall, lol!

Apparently anyone with a video camera was kicked out of the main hall. The guy kicking people out cited a rule that people weren't allowed to tape the masquerade, but no one can verify that was actually a rule. In other words, weird press drama. D:

Thanks! All the credit goes to Cordelia (who was Corny in the skit); it was all her brilliant idea. The "We Lost" people were stunning. We saw them at Costume-Con and it was great to see them again. Actually, their presentation was a little better at Costume-Con-- I think the guy in the warg was having some difficulties.

OMG, the record scratching! Seriously, what the hell? I seriously want to go back through the videos and check how many people did that. It was crazy!

The guy who did Iron Man apparently has bad luck with brick walls! (He did one as Superman in a previous year.) Maybe he should just stick to walking onstage. *g*
