In no particular order:

- WE'RE CANON!!!! EEEEEE!!!! I think "certain proclivities of mine" may just be my new favorite phrase." *dropkicks Lauren in celebration*

- "INDY! They're digging in the wrong place!" My fiancé laughed so hard we had to pause the TiVo. Particularly amusing as we've been watching lots of USA Network recently (mmm, SVU reruns) and they've been advertising their upcoming Indy marathon.

- Jack! You lie! You're a liar! You didn't really mean you wish you'd killed Irina-- you LOVE HER, remember? Right???? Don't do this to me, man! Okay, rationalize, rationalize...umm...okay, it must be that Jack feels guilty about still being in love with Irina after everything that's happened and everything she's done to him. He just can't stand that she still has power over him and so to punish himself/make himself feel better, he tells himself he wishes he'd killed her. Yeah. That must be it. *grumbles, then dropkicks Lauren again to cheer self up*

- Okay, Syd and Vaughn? I realize you're all happy and smoochy and wuv-wuvvy and stuff (and let's not go into how disturbing that is, that you shoot the traitor wife and immediately go for the liplock. Face it, S/V, killing people turns you on. Just like Lark. Ha!), but-- SHOOT LAUREN AGAIN! In the face! In the heart! Repeatedly! Empty your whole clip! Make sure she's really good and dead, and then, even when you're sure, you better chop off her head and limbs and bury them all separately, miles apart, so there's no chance in hell that she'll ever come back, not even with magic Rambaldi potions. THEN you can get back to going at it like bunnies. Only please, not where I can see. I just ate.

- Bad Aunt Katya. No biscuit. And I'm sorry, but she's just no substitute for the real thing. Aunt Katya: like Nutrasweet, in a way.

- And the season ends, once again, with Sark in custody. All beat up and bruised, but still sexeh as all hell. Poor Sark. Let me Syd kiss it alllllll better....

Overall, I was underwhelmed. Too many plotlines, not enough time, and a total anticlimax of a cliffhanger. Now if Irina had shown up with Jack-- that would have been something. But alas, no. *shrug* I can wait till January for this. No problem.

Jack! You lie! You're a liar! You didn't really mean you wish you'd killed Irina-- you LOVE HER, remember? Right????

so [livejournal.com profile] vanzetti pointed out to me that Jack *was* speaking to Vaughn when he said that. He was trying to get Vaughn to kill Lauren by any means necessary, which is not unlike Jack. Couple that with the fact that we now know that Jack was hiding the sekrit safe deposit box from Sydney, and since he was previously investigating Lauren, it's likely that he knew that she knew and *needed* to have her eliminated. Having Vaughn do it was cleaner for him, because Vaughn did have probable cause, whereas if Jack out and killed her, he'd come under suspicion, at least in Syd's eyes.

So he was, indeed, lying, and just playing Vaughn. *nods solemnly* That's what I'm going to tell myself.

Also, this logic works for Jack's comment to Vaughn about Sark "breaking under fear" or whatever he said. Jack was baiting Vaughn. I'll bet Jack even figured that Sark would bring up his boinking of Lauren to piss Vaughn off more, which would eventually push him to be homicidal.

See? It does work. In my head.

BWAH!

Ooooh, I like that explanation better than mine. But any explanation that preserves the fact that Jack still wuvs Irina in an incredibly twisted way will still work for me. *g*
