My skating team had a meeting on Tuesday night, talking about the season ahead, payments, travel, etc etc etc. I'm now officially a member of the Team Del Sol Adult team, wooohooo!!! *bounces* Pacific Coast regionals are in Ft Collins, CO (so maybe you can come see me, [livejournal.com profile] schneck128!) and Nationals are in Lowell, MA (so maybe my relatives and MIT friends can come see!). Very very exciting.

Of course they spent a fricking hour talking about fundraising. I thought I'd left that behind with high school, but apparently not! :-P (Luckily, they had wine, cheese, crackers, and chocolate-dipped strawberries for us, so this was not nearly as annoying as it could have been. *g*) There was one really neat fundraising thingie though, that was actually completely non-obnoxious and didn't require spending any money. There's this website called E-Scrip where you can basically hook up your grocery loyalty cards to your group's account, and everytime you swipe your card at the grocery store something like 2% of your purchase goes to your group. For us, the relevant store is Vons/Safeway, but there are others too, and they also have non-grocery partners, so you can just hook up your credit/debit card and if you ever use it at one of their partner stores, it does the same percentage thing. The FAQ at the site explains it better than I can. :-P

So here's the pimpage thing-- it works for friends and family too; you don't have to be a member of the group to do this. Again, it's totally free, no obligations for anything, just punch in your card number and forget about it. So if any of y'all out there are so inclined, it would rock my world if you could take three minutes out of your day to set up an account at the E-Scrip site and designate "San Diego Figure Skating Club" as the recipient group. (For Boston types, Shaw's/Star is a partner, but only at a few locations, mostly in the suburbs, unfortunately.) If you *do* set up an account, could you also email me (JainaMSolo AT aol DOT com) your name? That way I can tell our team's coordinator guy that anything from your account goes under my name.

Anyway, no pressure at all, feel free to do it or not do it as it suits you. ;-) I just figured it couldn't hurt to ask, right? Thanks, guys. :)

DAMN, it's cold today. *shivers*
