HOLY CRAP only 20 days to Comic-Con and I have two costumes to finish. Which really means I should get off this computer, go home, and start SEWING. I managed to get hooked up with a LOTR group for Masquerade, so I can just wear my old Arwen chase dress-- yay! But I've promised Sikozu for Saturday, to help the Watch Farscape effort, so I really need to get a move on. And also a wig. And some makeup.

On the fiance front, Rogue is now doing much better thanks to the painkillers, antibiotics, and eight hours of uninterrupted sleep. Phew.

Well, we bought airfare last week, so yeah. :) Flying up Sat morning and coming back that Sunday night. And we're going to stay with our friend Dave. No idea how we're actually getting to the wedding itself.

I really hope you're coming; otherwise the only people I'm going to know are Breath and Kaitie's family-- you know, the one that includes my ex-boyfriend? Oh, and Leah, I guess, assuming nothing's changed.

weeelll... I have issues. Money and time and logistics issues.

Money: To fly would cost me $300, and that's a "no" right there. Stupid southwest doesn't fly to Denver, which if you ask me, makes no sense at all. There is an Amtrak train that goes from here to there, and there's a station that's moderately close to the goal there. To take the train would cost $162. That's a "maybe."

Time: Okay, so I assume that I'll take the train. It's an 8.5 hour trip on a train, one way. This is not a problem for that Saturday, but it becomes a problem for the way home -- I'd have to take the day off work on Monday. This becomes a problem because the amount of time I'm taking off for your wedding is draining my paid time off for the year (less this year, because I'm only working since June). If I took one of the days from your wedding trip and put it on over on this, it would not only take one day, it would steal three (because if I take away that first monday, I take away that first weekend). So the question is partially, would you rather I was at your place that whole week plus the weekend, or could I get by with coming in on Tuesday? Also, is there anyway I could fly out of SD on Sunday late after your wedding, or would that be too logistically difficult and I should just plan on taking that wrapped monday too?

Logistics: This seems less of a thing than all of the above. All the rental car places around the train station close by 1pm on saturday, and my train gets in at 5:10p. Also, I have no place to stay, but I was sort of hoping I could append myself on to you. Although, considering all of the above, I might not even get to resolving that issue.

I just thought, well what if I took the train out on satuday and flew back sunday night? that would cost about $220 (eh... but not "no"), and allow me to work monday. The problem is that i would then fly into the airport having left my car at the train depot. And having someone pick me up would mean coming to the airport (an hour outside of town) at 11:30 at night and carting me around -- and I don't know anybody that well yet that I would feel comfortable asking that.

So. What do you think? The issue with the money, is that I have a lot of spending to do come October. And I'd rather spend it to spoil you before your wedding than on this, as much as I want to be there for them. It just doesn't appear to be logistically possible. I haven't decided on "no" yet, and I'm open to any suggestions you have. But it looks kind of bleak.

Honestly, it depends alot on what you say, because anything (time, money, etc.) this trip requires will be traded from your wedding.

Yes, makeup thoughts, v. helpful. Thanks!

It has to be a wig because I've got a diff. costume every day for Comic-Con, and none of the rest of them have red hair. Hell, I have a different costume for that *night,* even. But this is a costume I'll get a lot of use out of hopefully, so I'm willing to get a wig for it. 'Sides, red curly wigs are always fun!

ahh. gotcha.
in which case, I would recommend:
Wig Curly Extra Long
or Wig 30" Curly
or Sultry Deluxe Adult Wig
all from buycostumes.com.

Some of them might have to be curled a bit more, but that's easy enough to do. I've bought several wigs from this company and always been pleased with them.
