it's called, monster eats the pilot
Nov. 29th, 2005 06:34 pmSo yeah, I just spent about thirty seconds on the Lost boards at TWOP and was very, very quickly reminded why I don't read there anymore. Ow, the bitter, it chafes!
We caught up on 2x03 through 2x08 of Lost on Sunday and for all that it was six. damn. episodes, it felt like hardly anything happened. I am just not on board with this whole barely-two-days-an-episode thing. For them, it's been forty-eight days; for me, it's been well over a year, and it's causing a serious mental disconnect. And Claire's porcelain-skinned infant of ginormousness is not helping matters, let me tell you. (The kid's supposed to be, what, less than a week old? Can we at least put some red Jell-o on it or something?) Oh also, the flashbacks? By and large, not the most enlightening.
Uh...let's see. Charlie. I haven't actively been reading posts in hopes of avoiding spoilage, but from what I've gathered, people have been really irritated by him this season. Watching these episodes, I guess I can see where they get that, but I still love him to bitty pieces, even if he was mean to poor Hurley. Is he totally overstepping his bounds with Claire? Probably, but I think it creates interesting drama and I'm willing to follow where the storyline goes. I absolutely see where he's coming from-- his self-appointed position of Protector of Claire and The Baby is desperately important to him, and he's terrified of losing it. Charlie really needs to be needed, if that makes sense, and the idea that Claire might not need him, or that someone else could do the job better, must be driving him to distraction. Plus, awww, daddy!Charlie. (I totally have this thing for dysfunctional parents with no idea of how to raise a kid, if it wasn't already obvious from my decade-old devotion to Lucas and Sami from Days of our Lives. Shut UP.) Oh, also, my bet is that he's not back on the smack yet, but he's seriously thinking about it. And he probably will go back to it in the next couple of eps. Conflict, yay!
What else? Er...Shannon! I've held no great love for Shannon, but I was damn disappointed that she was the next to go. I mean, she'd been getting more interesting with Boone's death and being left in charge of Vincent, then we finally get some more backstory, and bang! she's dead. And now we don't even get to see Boone in flashbacks. So, sucks to be both Ian Somerhalder and Maggie Grace. Also, a lesson for everyone else on the island: Don't have sex, or one of you will die horribly shortly thereafter. ...on second thought, hey, Jack and Kate, get to that sexing already!
Oooh, oooh! Lock-Nah! Lock-Nah! Yeeeeeeee, so awesome! *loves* I couldn't catch his character's name on Lost while we were watching it (although imdb.com tells me it's Mr. Eko) so I just kept calling him Lock-Nah. He. Rocks. Much, much more of him, please, and slightly less of Analucia, who I think has the potential to be interesting but is in danger of falling to the Kate side of the Force.
Also, Bernard and Rose! *warm fuzzies* And Jin and Sun! Jin and Sun, the most romantic people on the whole damn island, and possibly the prettiest. Remember when we all thought Jin was a big heartless meanie? *hugs Jin*
So, in conclusion, people I love beyond measure:
Charlie
Claire
Jin
Sun
Michael
Lock-Nah Mr. Eko
Locke
Hurley
Bernard
Rose
People I'm cool with:
Sayid
Walt
That Libby chick
Analucia (for now)
Sawyer
Shannon (dead)
Boone (dead)
People I have very little use for:
Jack
Kate
