We are still safe. However, the evacuation line is creeping closer to our house (the southern boundary is now Sorrento Valley Blvd), so we are packing in earnest. If they say go, we want to be able to just go. But it's definitely not certain that we'll have to go.

Alex and Tree, and Jon, Janet, and Jonny all evacuated safely. If [livejournal.com profile] blusurfer and Dan end up having to evac due to the Fallbrook fire, we will likely end up with Alex and Tree at her parents' house.

The City of C'bad site and official San Diego County emergency site still don't say anything about us, but the local TV networks for some reason have decided to color the voluntary evac thing over us. Pfffth. Evacuation still just for air quality in Carlsbad, whatever area it covers.

Just now some newscaster said something about the Fallbrook and San Marcos fires dying down somewhat. At this point I think everyone is talking out of their asses.

But hey, we will have the land line phone up with us tonight, so call if you need to come up. (Do you have that number?) Also, Matt has offered a place to crash and his area is still looking clear for you guys.

At least we finally wrote a list of stuff we would need to take if we have to evacuate. I wrote "Coco" at the top. :-D

My thoughts are with all of you right now. Hope this whole mess is over soon.
Hugs, honey.

Be safe! I just realized that a friend from high school is living in Oceanside these days and is on the cusp of evac. I hope that you guys don't have to evac, but if you do, I'm glad you have someplace to go.

I don't think we actually have your landline number. You can email it to me?

I think that one fire near San Marcos is contained, but I hadn't heard anything about the Fallbrook fire.

I just really want to go to sleep and ignore everything. But that would be a bad idea.

I'll email the landline number. We've been trying to use that to save on the cell phone overload. Jeff was trying to call my cell phone number around 7 pm and had trouble getting through.

Ack. I mean the Witch Fire. The north side of that one is freaky, but the Santa Anas blow the wrong direction for that one to really worry us. But it does anyway, since I am paranoid that way.

I think I am going to crash once I finish my last load of laundry, but I figure we will get a reverse-911 call if anything happens. (YAY landline! Paying for that damn thing is finally worth it.) Plus, I figure my neighborhood and the neighboring adjacents streets will get pretty noisy.

Call us if you need to come up, no matter what time. I'll be LJing and emailing until going to bed. I figure until midnight or so.

Got your email. Yeah, the Witch Fire is the scary one for us; it's already like halfway between the 15 and 5. It still has to cross two more freeways to get to us, but...ick.

I'm going to nap for a bit, but Rogue will be up. We'll call if anything changes.

Uhm, I think we have a landline number around here somewhere. Lemme find it and I'll email you.

Ah, good luck, I will keep you in my thoughts!

Keep that landline on and available. That is where your reverse-911 call will come if anything happens. That cell phone with the Maryland area code doesn't help much. :-)

Dan has gone upstairs to read and will probably shortly crash. I'm going to sleep in a half hour or so.

Stay safe! I was in Santa Barbara during a major fire and it's pretty scary. My thoughts are with you both and everyone else in San Diego.
