Gilmore Girls 2x16, 'Bridesmaids Revisited':
I fricking love Christopher. I do. I don't know exactly why. But I always love him, even when I'm busy hating him for being a jerk (see: third season, fifth season). And I enjoy his friendship with Lorelai. So I was happy to see him. However: dude who plays Christoper, STOP CUTTING YOUR HAIR. It looks better when it's a little bit longer. Trust me on this one.
I totally called Lane getting married! Ha!
Also, having gone through five boys total with no luck, it's clearly time for some Rory/Paris femslash. For serious. (
voleuse agress with me!)
In GG alum news, we discovered recently that Dave Rygalski is in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Naked Guy Marty is in the movie version of Rent. Awesome.
The Amazing Race 9, Episode 1:
Loving the hippies and the nerds. Those shrieking-harpy faux-glamazons have GOT to go. Next episode, please?
Some of the teams are taking it way too far with the matching outfits and whatnot. The pink girls? "Mojo," with "MO" on one and "JO" on the other? Ick.
The southern dentist jerk was all "I lack compassion" and waaaaaah, I would never want him for my dentist EVER! I believe I shall call him Orin and his blondeservant wife Audrey.
And the single mom and daughter are totally the Gilmore Girls. The daughter even sort of vaguely looks like a Hispanic version of Rory. I was trying out "Gilmoritas" for their name, but not sure it'll stick.

Date: 2006-03-01 08:52 pm (UTC)Sigh...Lane. :( I'm still hoping her old boyfriend will leave the OC and come back to Starshollow.
I am still fuming over the whole "we were on a break" crap, though.

Date: 2006-03-02 12:20 am (UTC)I miss Dave Rygalski something fierce. But we'll never get the actor off the OC. :( Zach's okay; "That is *so* not rock 'n' roll!" has become something of a catchphrase around our house.
"We were on a break!" says
RossLogan toRachelRory. Nothing new under the sun, right?no subject

Date: 2006-03-01 09:58 pm (UTC)So now he's in his diaper on the LR floor, reading a Boynton book quite happily while I find him clean clothes.
On the tooth front, I can *feel* one but still can't really see it. It is, as my mother puts it, the downstage right tooth :)

Date: 2006-03-01 09:52 pm (UTC)As for him and Lorelai getting together? Nope. I think they're always going to be close friends. But it's totally Luke. I know it is. Lorelai just has to learn how to deal with Luke.
And I totally freaked when Lane got engaged. What a wonderful scene! I especially loved how Luke just kept steering her around, afterwards. And he had this great look on his face that tells me we should be seeing progress with Lorelai the next new episode.
I'm also a bit bummed about Rory and Logan breaking up. (Again.) Rory, I thought you had matured. Sex happens; especially to men during a breakup. And I really don't want to see a repeat of the whole Friends storyline, either! Hopefully this one will resolve quickly. I like the idea of Rory riding off into the sunset thrown into the world of her grandparents.

Date: 2006-03-01 10:06 pm (UTC)I don't want Chris and Lorelai together either. I think there's too much between them for that, but they work very well as friends. They have an awesome rapport.
I don't blame Rory for being angry. She just comes from a fundamentally different worldview than Logan, where monogamy is the standard and you don't have one-night-stands. Hell, if it had been just one girl she might've handled it okay. But that it was multiple girls, yeah, I can see where she's coming from.

Date: 2006-03-02 02:32 am (UTC)I find the fact that Logan and Christopher are so alike to be both very real and a bit creepy. I love Christopher, and I'm warming to Logan, but in a way Rory is dating her charming, irresponsible dad. The scene where they compared private schools they had gotten kicked out of was perfect, but a bit eye-opening, I would think.
That being said, my personal belief is that Rory has been aiming for a world somewhere between Lorelai and Emily's, and that Logan suits that balance very well. Plus, the more Christopher-y he gets, the more I'm going to like him. :-)

Date: 2006-03-02 03:00 am (UTC)I had noted the similarities between Christopher and Logan, but hadn't really put it together in the sense of "Wow, Rory's dating her dad." It makes total sense, though, as you say-- real, but kinda creepy. Hopefully Logan can make good, like Christopher finally did. (Although he's clearly still learning, too. Gigi is a monster!)
