So! For my first sock-like project, I made the Fuzzy Feet from knitty. They're socks, knit ridiculously large, that you felt down into toasty warm slippers. I, of course, made Jayne slippers from my wool leftovers, because I appear to be incapable of knitting anything that doesn't somehow involve Jayne hat colors. For the felting, they went twice through the washer and once through the dryer, and they're just the teeniest bit loose over my socks, which is perfect.

Here are the slippers before I felted them, with one of my size 10 dpns included for comparison. (It's 7" long.)

Then here they are after I felted them (note the dpn):

And on my feets:

I am pleased!

I couldn't knit either until last year! Then a very nice lady taught me how to make Jayne hats and I'm slowly working my way through other projects. It's interesting, but sloooooow. Good though for doing while watching TV, which you can't really do with machine sewing.

Thank you! Yes, wooly feets are very nice, especially when you live in a north-facing apartment that never gets any direct sun. *shivers*

Thank you! Yes, felting is so cool! I'm making a pair for Rogue now. :) Not in Jayne colors, though.

Cool! It's great that you know how to knit. Those socks remind me of slippers my Grandma always used to make us when we were kids. :)

Thanks Kathy! I just learned how to knit last year, to make Jayne hats. I'm slowly branching out.

Thank you! My feet get pretty durn cold; our apartment is north-facing so we don't get sunlight, and we don't turn the heat on. So in winter it's often in the high 40s or low 50s inside. Chilly!
