Thanks, everyone, for your lovely comments on my last post. I have pictures! I didn't take any backstage at Masquerade, because my camera doesn't do so well in low light, but our group (sans our Jack and Barbossa) had a fun photoshoot this morning on board the HMS Surprise and the Star of India, both at the Maritime Museum. We were the "PDQ Pirates"-- we acted out the entire first movie in 2 and a half minutes. Pretty frantic!

Thank you! There are actually two aircraft carriers in that pic, the Nimitz and the Reagan. I don't know which is which, though. And the Midway, which has been turned into a museum, is just out of frame.

The Nimitz is #68 (the first of its kind Hence the being called Nimitz Class) and the Ronald Reagan is the #76. The Reagan is the latest one built and commisioned but they are currently building the USS George H W Bush ((CVN 77). Way too much informaiton I'm sure.

Basically, if you're looking @ them from the midway side of the harbour, the Nimitz is on your right, and the Reagan is on your left

If I remember correctly, the Nimitz is the larger one that you see from the side; the Reagan is a little smaller and you see it head on.
