I've been silent about the election so far in my livejournal, preferring to keep my reaction on message boards and occasionally in comments on friends' LJs. However, today I was shown an excellent op-ed piece from the New York Times that, IMO, expresses very well one of my biggest problems with our current government.

I may be the only one...

...but is there anyone on my flist who has both read Life of Pi and used to watch Earth2? Because Lost strikes me as a really wacky combination of the two. The polar bear was really what made me think of Life of Pi (zoo animals lost at sea) and then this whole "the island has a will of its own" is really really Earth2. And plus, the Earth2 folks crash-landed and had to do the whole survival thing. And one of the members of the party was miraculously cured by the land/island.

Just a random observation. :)
