I made a Musical Edition icon. Cause I felt like it.

And for some actual content (is a stupid quiz actual content? Don't kill me, [livejournal.com profile] snarkel), the Yankee or Dixie Quiz, by way of [livejournal.com profile] alij. It told me I'm "39% (Yankee). A definitive Yankee." Well, except for my tendency to refer to groups of people as "y'all," and to get stuck in a Southern accent when I'm sleepy, or in a mood.

"44% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category."

I'm confused... if your 39% Yankee is a "definitive Yankee", why is my 44% "barely"?

not that I mind, of course.. I never wanted to be a Yankee, and I feel Californians should be exempt anyway ! :)

Yeah, I'm surprised the same way.

Of course, I'm not a Yankee. I'm a New Yorker.

I think it's not that I'm a 38% Yankee, it's that I scored a 38% on the the test, which puts me in Yankee territory. (It looks like if you score below 50% you're a Yankee, and above 50% you're a Southerner.)

ah... that makes more sense.
I mean, I know I'm not good at math, but that was backwards even for me :)

Um-- I think it's one of the ones Kat took backstage? She didn't have many in costume but that one cracked me up, even in the 3P0 costume wasn't all the way finished.

63% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

I knew that marrying a girl from Charleston and living with her for over a decade would rub off on me.

Although some of that is probably because New England and the Southeast share a lot of regional dialect subtleties.

Plus, the quiz doesn't hit some of the more interesting questions like whether you call the big thing in the kitchen a fridge, a refrigerator or an icebox. ML also points out that whether you refer to a purse, a pocketbook, or a handbag is also highly regional.

It's not just Texans. We have one in my town in Ohio.

Oh, and I got 44%. Just barely a Yankee.
