Well. It just wasn't in the cards for Kris and Jon, I guess. Freddy and Kendra just beat them out on that last leg, since they got on the same train off the airplane. That train crossing though-- that was just harsh. I guess it was a big "You are not meant to win this" signal or something.

However. Hayden's frustrations over the key thing, and Rebecca getting it at the last second? That was karma. I truly, absolutely believe that. That was karma for all of Hayden's nasty behavior and general not-nice-ness over the course of the race. And Aaron proposing to her, oh, Aaron, no, sweetie. The second he turned to Hayden, and that music started, we started screaming at the TV, "No! No! No! Don't do it, Aaron! Don't do-- OH NO!"

I did tear up when Kris and Jon made it to the end and they were talking about each other. They're just so *nice.* They're people I'd like to have as friends, you know?

Yeah, but the train crossing clearly didn't affect them as much as was implied. You could hear the bells start while F&K are on the mat. I figure they were about 10 minutes behind when they got to the park.

(I'm beginning to think that there may have been a separate task in Chicago between the Water Tower and the pizzeria that got edited out. When they're looking for a cab immediately after hitting the Water Tower, they're in an area that looks nothing like Michigan Avenue. Now, mind you, I haven't been there in eight years, so I could be misremembering.)

Rumor on the web is that there was another task between the water tower and the pizzeria; teams supposedly had to find the location where Mrs. O'Leary's cow started the Great Fire. That's probably how K&J dropped back so far; finding information on that location may have made the difference.

Confirmation of that may be buried somewhere in the TarCON 6 thread on TWoP. They had a big party Tuesday night in some function room at Madiosn Square Garden that was attended by many racers, with the noticeable exception of Freddie and Kendra.

I felt bad for Kris and Jon--I know from experience that the train going by was going to take 10 minutes to cross. I'd love to know why Freddy and Kendra got to Gino's East so much earlier than Kris and Jon when they were on the same El train.

I'm a little surprised they didn't go with Pizzeria Uno, since they were the ones who created the deep dish pizza in the first place. Anyway, that task was more of a food break than anything else. They actually served the teams a two-person pizza, so there wasn't anything hard about it at all. Very disappointed.

The preview for TAR7 was very encouraging, though. It looks like the teams are less prone to shrieking and more into enjoying the experience. Always a good thing in my book. :)

Gah, I don't knwo why people can't see that Aaron and Hayden have a perfectly good relationship. They're going to make it, dangnabbit. She just vents a lot, but she doesn't vent at him... sheesh. :)
