ohmygodohmygodohmygod I have seriously NEVER been that nervous for an ending EVER. Even including the nailbiter Sox-Yankees playoff games this fall. I was SICK to my stomach and then when I saw Brian and Greg running ahead of Ray and Deana I started SCREAMING with joy. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my God. Wow. Wow.

On another note, I was royally pissed that POW&PQ didn't get a prize for coming in first this time, when Ray and Deana got *cars* for coming in first via a friggin' Fast Forward. I seriously think that if you come in first via a Fast Forward, you shouldn't get a prize. Fast Forwarding itself ought to be prize enough.

No kidding!! How aesome was that ending??? I was pratically biting my nails off and sceaming at the same time!

That was a pretty exciting show; head injuries, car acidents, death-defying stunts and lions! I love this show. ;)

What a great episode! I'm glad it's on TiVo, as I plan to watch it again this weekend and fully enjoy the many stages. Especially the lions.

I found Meredith and Gretchen particularly interesting. I have been rooting for them to go away now, please, and take that voice with you. But I was pretty impressed with the way Gretchen handled the fall, and the way they took the loss of all their possessions. Of course, the terrible "Rhino relief fund, and we're not lyin'" line pretty much did them in again as far as I was concerned, but for probably 30 minutes I didn't hate them. And of course it gave yet another opportunity for Uchenna and Joyce to show how amazingly cool they are in giving them clothes.

I'm not sure about Rob. On the one hand, he's probably both playing a part and being editing to be shown playing that part. On the other hand, you at least slow down for a minute when you drive by a car crash. And, while the stress of the race gets to people, he was kind of a jerk later on. Not Ray-level jerk, but still. I respect their ability to get it done, and I think even without the occasional Survivor fan helping them they would still being doing very well. But...

At least there are really nice teams that you can root for this time, as opposed to last season when all the screen time until very late was with the jerks.

That's my thing. I kind of want to pull Rob aside and let him know that he doesn't need to be an asshole 24 hours a day, he can cut it down to 12 and still get a lot of good work in.

And I'd like to think that someone who uses my hometown as part of his friggin' name would at least slow down and offer assistance when a car accident has occurred -- involving people he's been talking and living with for the last month.

No kidding this was a great episode. Thank whoever's watching these things that Ray and Deanna are gone and the brothers are still around. And there was a sweet, karmic justice that Ray and Deana went from first to last in one leg and that Meredith and Gretchen beat them.

I'm as conflicted as [profile] mary_linton about Rob and Amber. They're good racers, they treat each other well, and they seem to be enjoying themselves. They're good television, too. But they don't treat anyone else on the race with any respect whatsoever, and Rob said a couple of things last night that really bothered me.

Although the crap treatment is pretty mutual. If it had been Rob and Amber who crashed, I don't think Lynn and Alex would have stopped - no matter how much they pride themselves on being decent human beings. Really decent human beings don't bitch about others the way those two do about Rob and Amber. Or shriek at fishmongers that they're cheats.

The lions were cool.

I don't know; if you believe, as many seem to, that Rob is being edited to make him look more like a guy fomenting conflict with the other racers, then you have to believe that Lynn and Alex are being edited to heighten that conflict. We can't really say what they would have done if it were R&A in the crash.

Really, all we can say is this -- Lynn and Alex are racers who were willing to stop and help at an accident, even if it meant dropping two places in the race. Rob and Amber weren't even willing to slow down.

Yeah, they should have done what every other team did. Even Ray the schmuck slowed down and rolled his window to see if there was anything they could do.

Phil seemed displeased with them, too.

I still prefer them to Lynn and Alex.

Lynn and Alex really need to get over their Rob and Ambah fixation. If they did that, I would really, really love them. As it is now, I like them, but with reservations.

I totally agree. No prize for fast forwards! That was lame! I like POW&PQ. Hate Ray. Hate him! Thought Rob & Amber should have at least rolled down the window to see if everyone was ok - but I think that Lynn and Alex should mind their own business. They're always so focused on what everyone else is doing - and it's like all they can talk about is Rob and Amber. Just let it go!

I also don't think Fast Forwards should happen in non-elimination legs. There should be a risk factor in a Fast Forward... if you go for it and somebody else gets it, you should be way behind and in danger of elimination. Otherwise, why not give it a shot?

Well, the haphazard scheduling of both the FFs and the NEL pretty much means that the risk is always there. Plus, now that the NEL mugging includes the removal of all your early possessions, I'd say that the danger is big enough now.

Ditto on not giving prizes for FFs though.

Seriously, I think Lynn and Alex would be doing better if they'd focus on *themselves* rather than Rob and Ambah. A little competition is healthy, but really, these guys take it over the edge.

The brothers have definitely brought us some of the most exciting non-finale finishes ever. I'm so glad they're not gone.

And I can't help it, and I don't like it cause I wasn't fans of them on Survivor... but I adore Rob&Amber. *shrugs* They make me giggle every week, and honestly, with that car accident scenario, when there's already another car stopped, and a film crew following the car that has wrecked... I don't see what they could have offered by stopping. First on the scene? You stop, after that, you're probably just in the way.

Rob cracks me up. Sometimes he's really kind of an ass, but mostly he's just entertaining. I don't want them to win it all, but I'd like them to make the final three. Just to keep the entertainment level up. :)
