have just spent an hour compositing those two dress photos together, to get a better idea of what I want. The result (which I'm very proud of, since I lack photoshop skillz):

Elegant and lovely. I also think that there is a current sewing pattern for a very similar style gown if you'd consider having your gown dressmaker made.

Thank you, Missi! Do you know which pattern it is, or even what company makes it? I'm planning on making my own dress, so I'm on the hunt for patterns. The sleeves won't be too difficult, and I can manage the bodice, but that dratted skirt is going to give me trouble, I just *know* it... ;-)
