last entry for awhile

jainaGrrrrrrrrrrrr. Had entry all typed up, and stupid-ass LJ ate it. Grrrrrrr. Now I have to try and remember it again.

In Maryland, finally. We drove down today instead of yesterday like we had planned. Who knew Budget closed at 2 pm on Sundays? Not us, clearly, and so we weren't able to get the car carrier and hook it up to the truck. We were very flummoxed by this for about fifteen minutes, then decided, "Well, we're here for one more night-- let's call people and see if they want to go see Pirates again!" We were only able to reach Jax and Jamez, so the four of us went to the Fenway to see the movie, then to the Longhorn steakhouse next door for dinner afterwards. We were joined by Pete around 11, and spent the next three hours sitting in Jillian's, just talking (and in Pete's and Jamez's cases, drinking). It was a really nice night and I'm glad we were able to do it.
The drive down today wasn't too bad; it took about nine hours and was relatively painless (except for the tolls, which we discovered are absolutely horrid when you're a truck towing a car). I fly out tomorrow morning-- I leave at 7:50 am and should be in CA by noon, west coast time. So I'll be there soon, Ames. :) But I won't have a car for awhile, so you'll have to drive down if'n ye want to see me. *g*
