jainaWill have more to say about the weekend's events later. For now:
My training grant is buying me a computer!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! I have $1800 to spend. Suggestions on a good laptop would be wonderfully welcome, since I know pretty much nothing about them.

Date: 2005-05-23 11:33 pm (UTC)It's likely going to come with me a lot, as I'll need it in lab and I wouldn't ever leave it overnight. So light would be a plus.
It doesn't need to be superfast, but I'd like it to be able to run the occasional game of Diablo or Warcrat.
Apple...I'm still thinking. I've been a Windows girl pretty much my whole life, but the lab computer is an Apple and I'm slowly getting used to it. Plus, there's always the "will it run on a Mac?" issue.

Date: 2005-05-23 08:45 pm (UTC)If I got a laptop, I'd get one from Apple. I have a couple of friends who love their powerbooks.
As it is, I have a Dell XPS Gen 4 desktop... I decided that after my horrible experiences with my Compaq laptop, I should stick with a desktop computer untill I absolutely need a notebook sometime in the future... even then, I would probably only get a notebook if I needed it for work, and in that case I would hope that I'd get one assigned to me from the place I work at, so I wouldn't have to buy one myself. :)
Hope that helps!
