It actually looks...pretty good, for everyone being ten years older than they should be. Except the newcomers, who are only about five years too old. (Rosario Dawson is only two years older than me, WTF?) Also, if I hadn't known that was Adam Pascal I'd've sworn it was Ewan McGregor. Something about the hair. My two "OMGSQUEEE!" moments in the trailer were the first time they showed Collins (yay Collins!) and the brief shot of Tango Maureen, which is my favorite song in the show. (Yes, I'm weird.) Also, errrrghhh...I understand why they put 525,600 over the trailer, but ack, so overplayed. Even ten years later.

It could still very well suck. High probability, in fact, with Chris Columbus directing...and co-writing the screenplay? GAH. I'll hold out hope, though. Wondering just how odd it will be to have most, but not all, of the original cast back.

I wonder if there's a site yet where people are analyzing every frame of the trailer and figuring out which scene they're from?

Tango Maureen! *dances in joy* I saw the trailer, and, as drwning in "Rent" for a year and a half ( senior project- got an a on) I was super bumped that they were making a movie of it, but a bit hopeful that it makes the story accessable to the kids I taught it to, but anyway... yeah, I don't know how I"m going to be with some of the orignial cast members there, but not all...

Arg. None of the players work for me. It jsut has a '?' over the Quicktime screen and Windows Media Player just keeps loading and loading.

The Quicktime one on that site didn't work for me either, but the one at sony.com/rent seemed to. Give that one a try maybe?

Woohoo - Tango! That's my favorite song too - and the reason I'd probably most want to be Joanne if MTG ever tried to do the show and could get the rights...
