More Serenity!

The international Serenity trailer is finally up, here. It's *awesome,* much better than the first one IMO. It doesn't reference Joss or Buffy at all, which is good, because we don't want to alienate newbies. (ETA: my bad, apparently it does mention Buffy near the end and I just missed it the first three times I watched the trailer. But it's not as prominent as it was in the first trailer.) Also, it's funnier. I think it's a better representation of the movie overall.

In other news, whilst in the parking lot of the wretched hive of scum and villainy (aka Wal-Mart) last night, I saw a license plate that amused:

My friend who saw the movie already said that the trailer is pretty spoilerific - I haven't seen it yet myself, though I have seen the movie as well.

Eh, I would say that only in the sense that any movie trailer is spoilerific. It really doesn't give any of the key surprises away, and I think if you haven't seen the movie yet, some of the things that might be considered "spoilers" aren't really, since you don't know what particular scenes are. It *does* have a few of the funniest lines, but I think those are necessary to get people in to see the movie in the first place.

Awesome! This is indeed a much better representation of the movie. More of an idea of what kind of story it is (I hate trailers where you have no idea what the movie is about afterwards) without giving too much away. Definitely gives the feel like you don't have to know Firefly to watch Serenity. And plenty of the Firefly humor sprinkled in to keep the veterans intersted.

And I love Jayne saying "Let's be bad guys" then cutting to River giving the brow-cocked sneering head tilt. :D
