Thoughts on Sci-Fi Friday:

SG-1:

I know some people can't stand Vala, but I adore her. She's definitely more than just a placeholder while we wait for Amanda to come back. And she and Daniel are just adorable.

SGA:

So...I'm not usually one to want two people together just because they're "soooo hott," but RAWR TEYLA AND RONON.

Rodney was totally adorable this whole episode. This was definitely a nice respite from the obnoxious!Rodney of the past few eps. Also, I'm glad the chick in his head lived, because I was more than half-convinced she wouldn't make it. And she was cool.

BSG:

OMG my poor Tyrol!

OMG Cally! OMG Cally and Baltar!

I thought I liked every character on the show, but I was wrong. Ellen Tigh, plz to be dying now.

Holy. Crap. The only humans alive on Caprica are a professional sports team. I could not love this show any more if I *tried.* (Okay, apparently not the *only* survivors.)

"Do you love him, Sharon!?" HOLY SHIT!

OMG CALLY!!!

Oh, Billy, I love you so much. That must have been so hard for you. Also, that was a serious Lee/Roslin moment right there.

Aaaaahahahahahha I *knew* Apollo was going to call Zarek!

Why, why, why does the Pyramid captain-guy look so familiar? I imdb'd him but didn't come up with anything I should have recognized him from. And also, I can just hear Kara thinking, "Well, Helo won't get it on with me, but maybe this guy will!"

Adama!!! Aaaah I want to leap into my TV and hug him! You can totally tell Tigh wants to, too.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OMGCALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this show I love this show I love this show I love this show I love this show I love this show I love this show I love this show I love this show...

ETA: I should add that I'm enjoying the hell out of Baltar/Six lately. They're so much more interesting when they're not just All Sex All The Time.

They've moved to the deeper phrase of their relationship. ::nods::

So that blonde chick is coming back? But I like Not-Aeryn. I don't know about blonde chick. And MacGyver? What happened to him?

I'm so articulate when I haven't been watching these shows.

Yes, "the blonde chick" is Samantha Carter. The actress playing her just had a baby, so she was off the show for six weeks.

"MacGyver," also known as Richard Dean Anderson, is basically retiring to spend more time with his daughter in Los Angeles. (They film the show in Vancouver.) He's been transitioning off the show since last season. Hence the bringing on of Ben Browder.

He will supposedly pop up every now and then.

I don't think I so much dislike Vala as I just get exasperated by her, much in the same way Daniel does. But then again, just as Daniel can't help warming to her and all her crazy quirks, neither can I. ; ) Yes, they had some adorable moments together this week. Loved the "bedroom" scene where he went all sympathetic to her (yeah, he really does have her pegged, doesn't he?), only to figure out she was playing him yet again.

But I think the best part was her little speech to the Senator. That was priceless!

SGA - my oh my, there is some definite sparkage between Teyla and Ronon. Yeah, wouldn't mind seeing them play off that.

And yes, I love Rodney when they write him this way. He really can be an adorable character at times. And I was so ROTFL over the bits with Carson. ; )

Yay - we got more Zelenka this week! And we even got him spouting off in his native language - always a plus.

SG1
Vala bugs the crap out of me, but she is totally funny and hilarious. I enjoyed this romp. And while part of me is impatient to get back to some storyline, I like that they're taking some time to integrate the new folks into the show before going full-bore into overarching plot.

And those dusters? Yummy! I love a guy in a duster!

SGA
Oh, my goodness. This is bumping off SG1 as my favorite. If the guy who plays McKay doesn't get an acting nod for this episode, it'll be a travesty. He was switching back and forth so quickly, it made my head spin!

And I'm pleased there will be some love interest for both McKay and Carson! I was hoping we'd get to see a bit more of life on Atlantis

Teyla and Ronin? Yeah. They are perfect for each other. And I want Sheperd to start having issues with that, at some point. It'll be funny.

And speaking of Sheperd. That look he gives Wier when he's getting her to say yes? Oh. Priceless! I totally squeed.

BSG
I'll throw in BSG, even though Michelle doesn't watch it. But while I'm on a roll.

My GAWD, can these people stop giving me heart attacks?! I am so glad I stay away from anything resembling spoilers for this show. Because they shock me every time.

Tyrol and Sharon. Wow. So hard to know how to deal with that. He hates her for shooting Adama and being a Cylon. He probably hates her for making everyone suspicious of him. But he still loves her. Very deeply. And now she dies in his arms at the hands of one of his most loyal crew? Oh, there's going to be some mess cleaning up this one!

And Ellen Tigh. I would love to have a Cylon get her. What an evil, despicable woman! Tigh probably could've stumbled along okay without her goading him and playing on his fragile psyche. But it's no excuse. Tigh's still an idiot. And I think Adama's an idiot for ever bringing him along.

And man, I wanted to go hug Adama, too! It was so good to see him standing in that door and back up again. Of course, part of me instantly thought, "Mighty fast, isn't it?" But I'll take it for the sake of moving things along.

Lee's rebellion. Wow. Wow, he just went on in and did it! He made his choice. And, as a result, I think he looks 100 times more confident. He's sure of his moral standing, now.

And he looks MIGHTY fine in those fatigues! ::sigh::

So who is the guy who plays the Pyramid team captain? I was thinking the same thing. That he looked really familiar.

The costuming thus far has been most interesting! (Daniel in Boots - need I say more?) We even got Teal'c in a suit.

Teyla/Ronon, and Sheppard having "issues" - yeah, I agree that would be most amusing to watch. Especially since I can imagine John being rather oblivious of it at first, maybe even having to have Elizabeth point it out to him. ; )

And speaking of Sheperd. That look he gives Wier when he's getting her to say yes? Oh. Priceless! I totally squeed.

Ditto! I kept thinking they are SO acting like a "couple".

I'll be sad to see SG-1 go back to fatigues. We've gotten some fun stuff lately. I nearly choked, seeing Teal'c in a suit.

Also, Sheppard and Weir are *so* sleeping together already. Okay maybe not. But I can pretend they are.

I loved Vala's speech. I was distracted, though, by wondering if those were supposed to be stockings or if she just had really interesting tattoos. (Vala, I mean. I know Claudia doesn't have them.)

The guy who plays the Pyramid captain is Michael Trucco. He was on Tru Calling in an episode I remember very well, now.

That's where I knew him. But I probably recognized him from guesting on several other shows I've watched.

Right, I got his name and checked out his IMDB page. But when I looked over his credits, nothing leaped out at me as "oh, THAT guy!"

SG1: Yea, the scene in the bedroom kicks ass. Daniel is one smart dude.

SGA: Yick, Tayla and Ronon. Maybe I'm just not in to the overly awesome warrior type... I think Shepard is much cooler, because he's not as awesomely strong, and makes up for it with brains, much like our friend O'Neil.

Anyway, Tayla being otherwise occupied makes room for Shepard and Weir, and I'm much more interested in those two hooking up.

BSG: Holy fckng crap. This show blows my mind. Baltar is a freaking lunatic/genius with the interegation, and as for Cally... wow. Words can't express what all these characters are thinking.

The only thing I find a little unbelievable is that Adama let this whole arresting the president situation go down in the first place. He should have known what would come of this.

I love Sheppard, but I think I can find some love in my heart for Ronon, too. And as you say, if they go for Ronon/Teyla then we've got clear skies ahead for Shep/Weir, which YAY!

I think Adama had some sort of plan for what he'd do once Laura was arrested, it's just that when he got all shot up that things went to hell because he wasn't around to keep things calm. Cuz Tigh's a fuckup. :)
