Jul. 3rd, 2006 09:28 pmWe interrupt your regularly scheduled flailing about Superman Returns to bring you yet another post about cats!
After many moons of wanting a cat,
sirrogue and I are now proud kitty owners. Keely, one of my coworkers, took in a stray that had been hanging around her yard, but she wasn't going to be able to take her along when she moves in August. So we offered to take her, and she's now been with us a little over a week. Keely did a fantastic job with her-- she's become much better around people-- but we still scare her a lot. Her very favorite place in the world (her world being the bedroom) is Under the Bed. But she's out and about a lot more now, doesn't start at every little noise she hears, and occasionally deigns to let us pet her. The vet estimates she's about two years old, and at some indeterminate point in the past she was picked up by the feral cat people and fixed-- you can tell by her clipped ear. On to the pictures!
Yep, her name is Ginny. We didn't even pick it, Keely did. Well, Keely originally named her Jenny, but it was for the Jenny in Forrest Gump (since she's a little slow) and with the accent it sounded like "Ginny," so that's how she spelled it on the vet papers. Anyway! Her name is Ginny, and we've given her the "real" Ginny's birthday of August 11.
Her favorite cuddle spot, my pillow:

Sitting like a bunny:

Keeping clean:

Before we bought actual food and water dishes:

"What?"

Being a cat is tiring work:

And there she is! Our silly little Ginny-cat.

Date: 2006-07-04 01:16 pm (UTC)Ginny's markings are very similiar to Mimi's. The only difference I can see is that Mimi's white on her face extends upwards over her nose, otherwise, Ginny is exactly what Mimi will look like when grown. Uncanny.

Date: 2006-07-04 10:19 pm (UTC)And if my guys are anything to go by, being a cat is VERY tiring. Run around, eat, sleep. Sleep more.
I love the little white paws. You realize of course that that is now HER bed. HER bed. And HER pillow.
