Oh, Gilmore Girls (which we finally watched tonight because I was pretty apathetic about it). About the best thing I could say about the premiere was that the credits made me really want to rewatch the early seasons. I think I'm pretty much done. :( (Paris, I still love you!)

In happier news, OMG Bloodlines! Holy crap! I'm a hundred pages in and I think I might actually-- GASP!-- care about what happens to Boba Fett. Curse you, [livejournal.com profile] karentraviss! Are there, um, other books about, er, Mandalorians and such? Oh God I can't believe I just asked that. *is ashamed*

I get a haircut on Saturday! YAY!!! Cannot wait, my hair is too damn long and breaking so badly and I can't stand it any longer. Need short hair NOW.

I'm giving the Girls a few more episodes. But they'd best get back into the swing of things. Of course, I've been watching it so long, I might just keep sticking with it, just to see it though to the end (since this is the last season).

As for other Fett stories? I really enjoyed the Boba Fett children's book series. Haven't really found others that interested me.

If you want Karen Traviss style Mandalorians, check out the two RepCom books, Hard Contact and Triple Zero. TripZip's the one with the most Mando bang for your buck, but Hard Contact sorta starts everything.

What she said. And yes, Karen's made me care about Fett, which is deeply disturbing.

Thank you thank you! There was some stuff in a couple of Insiders too, no?

Two short stories, Omega Squad: Targets (Insider 81) and Odds (Insider 87). The Omega story was reprinted in Triple Zero (comes behind the novel itself, but should probably be read first), there are "scans" of Odds in a gallery here (which isn't the best format to read it in but better than nothing).

And that's probably enough run-on sentences for one night.

and there is also some other important Mando articles in the insider - karen wrote one on the culture of mandalorians (and language, which she primarily developed), and before that, an article by ryan kaufman on the history of the mandalorians (pulling together everything that was known, and adding some new stuff, which karen has played with) - ryan and karen collaborated together - he was in charge of the storyline for the republic commando video game while she was writing Hard Contact, and so they came up with a lot of mando culture . some of the plotline developments about boba fett in bloodlines are dealing with some loose ends from other stories, and the mando history article (namely his progeny). if you want to borrow any of the Republic Commando books, or any of the appropriate INsider articles (or any of Karen Traviss' other novels (i have her other series as well), let me know..

I was getting pretty frustrated with the end of last season of GG. Luke was being such an unpleasant guy, and didn't seem true to his earlier commitment to her. I got that he would be thrown for a loop by April (which seemed a pretty cheap stunt, IMHO), but for *that* long?

As to this season, I agree that the L/L end seemed very abrupt, but on the other hand I completely see Lorelei turning to Chris. It's messy and ugly, but real. I've always had a soft spot for Christopher, and I'll admit that I wanted them to get together before. Maybe now I'll get my chance to see how that works.

That being said, not really a must-see. But it's on before Veronica Mars.

See, I love Christopher. And I love Lorelei with Christopher. And if I thought the show was going to treat the two of them as anything more than an obstacle to L/L getting back together, then I think I'd be watching. But I don't trust the show enough. Burned too many times by other shows, you know?

I'd like to be wrong. But I'm not counting on it.

You definitely need to pick up Republic Commandos: Hard Contact and Republic Commandos: Triple Zero...ostensibly about the clones, but also about Mandalorians, in a sense.

Yes, OMG on Bloodlines. Between Aaron's book and this one, I find myself caring about a series of SW books again. AND I WANT THE NEXT ONE NOW. DAMNIT.

Short hair is of the good. I went to Jenny yesterday and told her that in honor of my 35th birthday and the fact that I am sick of my job, I wanted to go really blonde and crazy. It's definitely blonde, and I can give it a total bedhead look. YAY! Next time, I think I'm going to go for a platnimum blonde pixie cut, so I can give my employer the finger...

Gawd, when did I get so crabby?
