I just spent a whoooole buttload of money on airplane tickets, because apparently everyone in the world is getting married this May. (I am skipping a day and a half in the middle of C4 to fly to my cousin's wedding in Boston. Why yes, I am insane, why do you ask?) I think I need to make a new going-to-weddings dress before then.

YAY FRIDAY.

Well...yay Boston? If you're not scheduled to the hilt while you're here, let me know!

Are you not going to C4?

I'm likely not going to have any spare time-- I get in at 7 am Saturday and go straight to the wedding, then reception, and then family stuff for the rest of the evening, fly back to LA first thing Sunday morning. :( It does seem silly, to go all that way and not see so many people!

C4?!?

With two dresses (unless I can convince himself that, tango aside, Smooth is just not me), Manhattan Dance Challenge, Ohio Star Ball, and possibly the Holiday Classic in Vegas to pay for? This year I might have had to call off GenCon. (Peter has me whipped. I need to accept that and move on. But I'm a competition addict and I already knew that.) Besides, I haven't done CI-III anyway. If we had JadeCon, that would be one thing, but everyone's going to be actually doing con stuff.

Everybody in *my* world is getting married in April, so I feel your (airplane-ticket) pain. My chore for today is finding a dress for wedding #1, which I'm actually looking forward to quite a lot: my swing dance instructors are marrying each other, and the reception is -- of course -- a dance. In the open-sided Bumper Car Pavilion of the glorious 1930s-era Glen Echo Park. (The wedding will be in the "Cuddle Up." :-) ).

So that means I need a short-sleeved dress with some (but not too much) twirl to the short skirt, preferably made of polyester or some other fabric that can handle vigorous movement & sweat. ...
