Or, just Merry Christmas, if you celebrate. :D We've been home with my family since Saturday, and we've been having a wonderful, relaxing time and eating goooooood. Yesterday we drove into DC to see the National Christmas Tree and the Ginormous Yule Log (my favorite! yay fire!) and various monuments and thingies. We went to the midnight service at my old church, where I was very excited to see some of my old friends. It gets harder to recognize people every year!

Highlights of gifts this morning included:
- everyone pretending that the hand-crank flashlights we got as stocking stuffers were actually Star Trek phasers
- my brother and I playing ring toss with the beaded bracelets I got
- sirrogue actually getting me a lump of coal (wait, that wasn't a highlight. grrrrr.)
- "Oh no, one of the chocolate reindeer had an accident." "Oh no-- wait, Dad, by 'accident' do you mean 'you smashed it with your hand so we'd have to eat it?'"
- Repeating the events of two years ago (when everyone got the Daily Show book for each other) with I Am America and So Can You

We got some cool DVDs (YAY STUDIO 60!!!) and books and a whole ton of bits for our (sexy, sexy, sexy) new drill. Now we're chillin' while dinner cooks. Yay, Christmas.

Heehee, Hubby got one of those hand crank flashlights from his father too. :) Will have to get him to take it back out to assess its likness to a phaser. ;)

Ah! We all got those hand crank flashlights from my mom too! I'm surprised we didn't think of using them as phasers :P
