Alright, from someone who has never seen FNL, how does it rank with really great shows such as new BSG, Veronica Mars, Pushing Daisies, new Dr. Who, Heroes... Just trying to get an idea on how hard I should work to track this down.
It is a GREAT show, and it shouldn't be too hard for you to track down. Season 1 is only $20 pretty much anywhere.
My favorite analogy in describing the show (mostly encouraging people who say "but I hate football", but the description still stands well on its own) is that people who hate football still love FNL for the same reason that people who hate scifi still love BSG. It's good storytelling, with solid, interesting characters that you will care about seeing what happens to them. Football/scifi is just the backdrop in which the story is told, not the driving force of the show. Complex characters trying to live their lives while overcoming adversity. Excellent drama.
