HOORAY THAT DID NOT SUCK. WOOOOOOO!!!!
Actually it was pretty good, on the whole! Sure, there was a gratuitous nuclear explosion, and Shia was Tarzan, and monkeys attacked Cate Blanchett, and hordes of giant ants ate people alive and formed a DNA-chain ladder (seriously, enough with the bug swarms), but it held my interest, I shrieked with laughter multiple times, and there were some great callbacks to the old movies, to other movies, and even the Young Indy series! (That was a very long sentence.) And the snake-rope thing! HOLY CRAP DYING OF LAUGHTER.
*And* it had one of my very favorite things-- a family kicking ass together while bantering with each other. (See also: the Fightin' Bristows, the Fightin' O'Connells, the Fightin' Connor/Reeses. Are there more of these families? Plz to send them my way, thx.) Jungle chase scene was AWESOME. Well, except for the Tarzan and monkeys thing.
Also, Shia looks DISTRACTINGLY like my little brother. It was really starting to freak me out.
And this isn't even the latest I've stayed up this week!

Date: 2008-05-23 03:22 am (UTC)I want to pull the "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY I'M GOING TO GO SEE THIS MOVIE AND YOU'RE KEEPING THE KID AND OMG I HAD TO SEE ELMO SO PLEASE LET ME HAVE THIS!!!!!!!!" but kept hearing no so nice things about Indy and while I was of the "So what, it's INDY" mindset, it was really putting me in a downer.
I'm so glad you guys liked it!!!

Date: 2008-05-23 06:29 am (UTC)It was actually very good, I was surprised. I loved the bickering family aspect of it, too.

Date: 2008-05-25 05:59 pm (UTC)Agreed. On the whole it was fantastic! And I too am of the Fightin' Families camp! I can't wait for the next Mummy installment (July!), even if Evie has been recast. :D
