So the McFortunes loaned us S1 of Bones, and I'm about halfway through. It's weird that I find it comforting to watch, isn't it? Because I'm pretty sure that shows with *that* many creepy skeletons are not supposed to be comforting, especially to people like me who are generally *really freaked out* by creepy skeletons. And yet I find it very soothing, as in, the last few nights, I've wanted nothing more than to come home, put on my flannel PJs, pull out my knitting, and curl up on the couch with an episode or two or three. Probably spending the last three days at a tradeshow didn't help, either; those always wear me out something fierce.

Also, it's helping wash away the nasty aftertaste of the S4 Angel ep I unwillingly saw the other day. ([livejournal.com profile] sirrogue is rewatching the series.) 'Scuse me, I think I need to go put in the next disc. :)

Oooh, I've started on NCIS too, which yes, very much comforting. It's slower going though, because I'm Netflixing it one disc at a time.

I am most of the way through season 1 now! And our friends have 2 and 3 so I can watch those post-haste. :) I'm going to try and stretch the viewing out a little though so it isn't over so quickly.

Good plan stretching it out... I wish I had done so... -_- But I got super addicted, super fast. Hoping that the two leads would make out or something ::ahem:: Also if you like bones this interview (or part of one) left me dying of laughter.. I had to share.

Bones is totally comforting -- the ensemble is just so endearing! It's probably my absolute favorite show that I've been watching recently (I think I've seen through mid- season 2 or so), and that's saying a lot because I've been watching a lot of terrific stuff! So much love!

Yes! Exactly! Endearing! And they all have such sweet, interesting relationships. After spending a month and half mainlining House, where everyone is miserable all the time and every relationship is pushed until it breaks, it's really very soothing. (Not that I don't still love House to tiny pieces. Speaking of, we owe you your copy of S1, plus several seasons of Smallville. They've been sitting on our front table for months now!)

Yes, exactly!! I love each of them for themselves, but most especially I love them for how they love each other. And I love House, too, but I think you've hit the nail right on the head about the contrast in relationships.

Ooh, true. It would be nice to actually see you guys at some point... Maybe dinner sometime between the 21st and the end of the month? Or February? I'm pretty flexible in general...

Yes! We should have dinner! When Rogue comes home this weekend I'll ask him what works for him.

I was just thinking that the other day, when I realised just how long it's been since a new episode aired. I love it, and it's totally a comfort show for me, along with Ugly Betty. (And Law & Order SVU, which I think is pathologically a creepier show to be comforted by!)

Is it just me or does David Boreanaz get hotter as he gets older? (My mom calls him Angel Boreales, btw. Still cracks me up after like, 7 years.)

I'm going to have to agree with you on that one. ;-) I find the older seasons comforting, but the newer stuff is not my cup of tea.

DB is definitely getting hotter! I was remarking to Rogue how much better he looks now than he did in the latter seasons of Angel.

Awww, Angel Boreales. :)
