SYTYCD alert-- the Season 5 tour wrapped a couple nights ago, and apparently HIJINKS ENSUED at the final performance. There's a great recap on SYTYCDism with lots of pictures and videos-- like Brandon crashing a number of dances (in a leopard-print loincloth during Janette's solo! in pink leggings during Melissa and Ade's pas de deux! taking Caitlin's place in Jai Ho!) and some iiiinteresting costume changes.
Speaking of SYTYCD tours-- now we know the Season 6 tour dancers!
Not at all surprised by the eliminations, and actually I'm pretty happy with them. I reeeeeeally wanted Mollee gone, and I have a feeling she will next week (she's got the lowest "favorite" ratings on the SYTYCDism polls). But I'm fine with Karen going. And Victor was my choice to leave, too, but Nathan *seriously* needs to shape up. He and Mollee were not good for each other. Someone pointed out somewhere, I can't remember, but that so much is made of N&M being the "youngest," but actually many of the other Top 20 were just as young or only a little older, and dance with far more maturity.
I have really, really warmed to Ashleigh and Jakob over the last couple weeks, to the point that I'm sad to see their partnership end. Not, y'know, crushed (like with Mark and Chelsie, or Brandon and Janette), but still. You know what's funny? Ashleigh got to dance in "her own style" this week, and I thought it was the weakest performance she's given so far. Weird.
As it stands now, for next week's eliminations I'd like to see Mollee and...actually, for the guys, I don't know who I want gone. Ryan or Nathan, maybe, or heck, Legacy or Russell. It'll depend on next week's dances.
Huh. Looking at the Top 10, I think for each couple, one pulled the other through-- Ellenore pulled Ryan, Russell pulled Noelle (big-time), Nathan pulled Mollee (barely-- actually, I guess the judges pulled them both), and Jakob pulled Ashleigh. Legacy and Katherine are a little more even; she polls pretty strongly. But I don't recall things being so lopsided in prior seasons.
ETA: Katee, Kherington, and Comfort were all in tonight's episode of Glee! I spotted Katee when we were watching, but didn't see the others. Now I'll have to go back and rewatch!

Date: 2009-11-27 06:57 am (UTC)I hated Ashleigh through Vegas, but now I love her. I think she and Jakob were FAB together. Jakob is just amazing, though.
I feel somewhat bad for Mollee and Nathan because they were billed as "the dream team" and then disappointed. I still really want to like them, though! Maybe they'll get better with new partners...

Date: 2009-11-30 06:33 am (UTC)I haven't liked Mollee at all but I think Nathan has promise. He just needs someone to really kick his ass and say, "Look kid, you're great, but you are waaaaay too young to be resting on your laurels." I think he's capable of so much more.
