Yesterday (10/10/10!) was sirrogue's and my sixth wedding anniversary. Our present to each other was a new kitty friend for our Ginny-cat (and for us)!

Meet Parker:



That picture is Parker in a nutshell-- she's very curious and loves to climb and jump and see "what's up there." Her name at the Humane Society was Raven, but she's such a little cat burglar, her name couldn't be anything but Parker. She had Rogue wrapped around her little paw from the moment she jumped onto his shoulder and tried to climb on his head. She's sequestered in our second bathroom for now; introducing her to Ginny will be...interesting.

Ack! When I made my D*C Friday post I forgot that I had never posted the Guild's "Game On" video to my LJ, so probably most people had no idea what those costumes were.

I've just done some pattern destashing-- most are older/vintage patterns (60s-70s-80s) that I got in a costume shop destash years ago, with a couple modern ones. I think they're all complete; I didn't keep track of which are cut vs. uncut. A few are missing their pattern envelope, but still have instructions.

Today was my birthday, and a delightful birthday it was. To wit:

- Woke up to find a present sitting on my laptop: Glee Season 1, Part 2! (OMG IT HAS A VID TO TEACH PART OF "REHAB" AND YOU CAN SEE THE DRESSES SOOO WELL!!!) Do I have a good sirrogue or what?
- Fantastic 8 mile run this morning at a 10:10 pace
- Birthday presents of new running shoes and running hat at Roadrunner's grand re-opening sale, plus a bunch of free energy gel/cube/bite samples
- Registered for next year's San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon, and hopefully convinced my Disney-loving salesgirl to run the Princess Half next year
- Treated myself to the cutest skirt ever from SkirtSports
- aviendiora and rhynndavrie came over with birthday Chick-Fil-A and we had nuggets and cupcakes for dinner
- I made lemon cupcakes and delivered them to the boys' Star Trek CCG tournament. It's a hobbity kind of birthday. Except for all the stuff I bought myself.

Also: rosiewook called me "Caitlin Jaina Robin Sparkles" on Facebook. I DEMAND THAT HENCEFORTH EVERYONE SHALL ADDRESS ME AS SUCH.

The laundry is in the dryer (wash ALL the things) so it's time for me to start on this year's Obsessively Detailed Dragon*Con Report! (Yeah, I know I haven't done CV yet. Or SDCC. Or SYTYCD. Or summer camps. Or Children of Eden. I will though, I promise!)

Right so! Our tale this year begins on Wednesday, since we had a redeye to Dulles, and thence to Atlanta, so that we could arrive early on Thursday. ( Full report and pictures under the cut! My poor, poor dress dummy... )

Okay, so Thursday was not particularly interesting. I promise the next four days are WAY cooler!

I slaved away for many, many hours on my Quinn dress for our Gaga Glee group. In the end I think I made a decent recreation, although nowhere near the vision that was in my head (isn't that always the way?). What I didn't realize until the end of con was that I had also inadvertently created a costume for an entirely different character:
