I have seen Superman again. Hurray.

- [livejournal.com profile] sirrogue had mentioned, after our first viewing, how expressive Kevin Spacey was as Lex-- how you could see the light going on behind his eyes whenever he figured something out. I watched for it this time, and it was really lovely, that "click" moment just before "...who is that boy's father?" and then "Brutus is dead. He got hit with a piano" and Lex pauses and then there's the *click*-- "Oh, it's time to go." And also the way he very quickly backed away when they did their first crystal experiment.

- How much do I adore Kitty's retro dresses? Absolute perfection. And I love how Lois had all those very high-waisted skirts and pants, keeping her clothing more grounded in the era of the original films.

- Okay, I completely failed to connect the dots the first time around and figure out what Lois told Superman when he was in his coma-whatever-thingy. It was only afterward that I was like "...wait, how did he figure out about Jason?" So this time I knew, and she was telling him while looking at Jason who was looking at the Superman costume and I was like OKAY YOU CAN TAKE THE KNIFE OUT NOW PLEASE OW. The whole movie is more knife-twisty, really, if you start out knowing who Jason really is.

- I have to know, what is it with the evil pomeranians? How come it's never evil chihuahuas, or something? What was that X-Files episode, there were pomeranians who ate someone? Or something? Anyway.

Erm, lemme think... Science of superman was on, National Geographic channel? Or Discovery Channel? Bravo ran the bio piece I was talking about. And there was another, sort of History of Superman, sev. hours long, maybe on the History Channel? Heck, it might have been VH-1 or something, even. All right around the opening of the movie. I literally spent a weekend hanging out with my television, flipping from one Supes program to another.

Science of Superman was on National Geographic. There was another documentary about Superman on A&E whose name I'm blanking on, right now. Both were quite interesting.

And I really need to go see it again. But Pirates and Devil Wears Prada must come before that.

(I know. Blasphemy!)

The A&E one is...shoot...the subtitle is "The Story of Superman". It's two or three hours long and covers him from the original creation in the comics.
